  1. I remember getting a couple of "N's" on my report card in Middle School. My Dad went... F G H IJKLM N and N That much worse than an F... Couldn't even get an H You are grounded
  2. He continues to keep the Indians off balance and keeps the rotation complicated for those who want him gone. (Disclosure: I Like Malone... Always Have)
  3. Just remember to use them for good instead of evil.
  4. When a lady is asking. There really isn't such a thing as Free Will
  5. "We're gonna Win Twins... We're gonna Score... We're Gonna Win Twins... Watch that Baseball Soar" "Knock out a Home Run... Shout a hip hoo-ray... Cheer for the Minnesota Twins Today" It's really a great song... It has all the elements of a hit.
  6. I don't know... but we can't have him tarred and feathered after the job he did in the 1st inning.
  7. After yesterday and the events of today. BTW... I now know why the "VENT" is in "EVENT" I can't advise you.
  8. You are game thread fun... I hope you stick around longer than that.
  9. I know I've already had a Murphy Sized Cow over the open spot on the 40 man.
  10. Kepler couldn't play because Buxton and Rosario and Arcia were on fire at the plate.
  11. I agree... But they had nobody else. Kepler or Walker were the 40 man replacement options. This organizational failure is multiple levels deep.
  12. Gun Shy Never Flipping Stopped them Before. I thought throwing them to the Wolves was standard operating procedure.
  13. All I did was sit on the couch for 5 hours and 56 minutes. Actually... I was watching Leicester vs Swansea before at 10:00AM, so it was more like 8 hours and 30 minutes on the couch. But... damn it... I was emotionally invested in that game... I wanted that win and we should have had that win and now I'm trying to pull myself together and move on like Baseball doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. But... I've still woken up dog tired. That game took a lot out of me... I can't help but wonder how much it took out of the players. Here are some things to think about: 1. Rosterology -- Roster changes are coming and I don't know what they will be... so I'm just gonna make them. I'm sending Buxton down. I know that some folks feel he should be allowed to play his way out of this... I know some of you will say... "What about that tattoo you got that says 'It's April?'" And to all of you... I understand and I don't disagree with you, but... in the end... you can't strike out 50% of your plate appearances and expect to stay in the majors. Santana is off the DL so someone has to go down. Also... We will need a couple of bullpen arms because the entire bullpen is currently spent. I'm sending O'Rourke down... Sorry about that Ryan... you don't deserve it... you threw 51 excellent Battle-Your-Tail-Off pitches and now you are cooked for a while and I need someone who can throw tonight. So, I'm calling Meyer up and sending down O'Rourke. I could start Meyer tonight but that seems a little knee jerk. So it's Milone starting and Meyer out of the pen. However, Milone should be able to feel Meyer's breath on the back of his neck. All right... I still have Duffey's spot... he goes down because he is of no use tonight. The guys on the 40-man who are in Rochester are also spent, so I'm going down to Chattanooga for Chargois (Shag-Wa for Bert). I don't know a lot about him but he has thrown 6 innings and only given up 2 hits, while striking out 9 and no walks and we need someone in the pen... like right NOW!!!. 2. 40-Man Roster Hicksology -- When Hicks was dropped off the 40 man... it was to make room for someone. Rumor is that Dave Murphy will be that someone. I'm not doing that... I'm not even considering that because Murphy on the roster is too little, too late, and it's grasping at straws while you are drowning while holding a bunch of babies. Nope... I'm saving that last spot for Berrios. Jose goes on the 40-man and he will be called up when the 1st injury happens. Basically... I'm shoving Berrios into the barrel of the gun and taking off the safety. 3. Lineupology -- I Got Rosario on the Bench... No Hits in 7 PA's and 4 Strikeouts. I Got Murphy on the Bench because he caught 16 innings yesterday and because of all the other reasons that you can all think of. Santana should be back and he gets to watch a game before facing the Lions (wouldn't be great if we could face the Lions like the Vikings get to). BTW, Dozier kills Salazar over his career 9/18 with a couple of dingers. Arcia, Mauer and Suzuki also do a decent job against Salazar in a SSS. If you don't mind, and even if you do... I'm gonna keep putting Dozier in the middle of the order because I don't think he's a 'top of the lineup' guy. 3B Nunez 1B Mauer RF Sano DH Park 2B Dozier LF Arcia SS Escober C Suzuki CF Kepler 4. Monday Monday - It was on this date in 1976 that Rick Monday saved an American flag from a public burning. For those who don't remember the incident, a couple of whatevers... ran onto the outfield grass at Dodger Stadium, knelt down and attempted to light an American flag on fire between innings. They were not very good at starting a fire... apparently they were trying to rub a couple of sticks together or something because they struggled and this gave Rick Monday enough time to run up from behind them and rescue the flag. Rick was immediately branded a hero and it was decreed by John Phillips that April 25th every 7 years - sometimes 6 with adjustments for leap year - will be known as a Monday Monday. Today is a Monday Monday. It was all I hoped it would be. 5. Turner Brown -- There are a lot of misunderstandings at my house... we could be an episode of Three's Company. Last night was the latest. I was kinda bummed after the 16 inning defeat... I watched all 16 innings so I was plenty invested in the outcome. My youngest son came home from work afterwards and asked how the Twins did and I told him they lost... I thought about it and I said to him... you know what the Twins need... "Turn it Around." Turn it around and I'll feel better about things... just "Turn it Around." My son then asked, "Who is Turner Brown?" I decided not to clarify just for the humor and I felt better immediately. Anyway... my description of Turner Brown made Bryce Harper seem like Al Newman. Yep... That's what we need. --------------------- Lineups: INDIANS Davis CF Kipnis 2B Lindor SS Napoli 1B Santana DH Gomes C Byrd RF Uribe 3B Ramirez LF Salazar P TWINS Nunez 3B Dozier 2B Mauer DH Sano RF Park 1B Arcia LF Escobar SS Suzuki C Santana CF Milone P Game-time forecast: 59 deg F, overcast, 8% chance of precipitation, winds from the N at 10mph. 15. I didn't understand your question but... There was a fleeting moment that I thought we might rope a dope them. I was wrong.
  16. It's hard to pull an outside slider.
