  1. This will be my shortest Game Thread Opener Ever. It's game 160. At this point... The coaches are not going to change Brian Dozier's swing. There simply isn't enough time to make these adjustments. The Twins are what they are and what they are gonna be and what they are is good enough to be in contention for a playoff spot going into the final weekend. I can go over the records and all the possibilities but you know them all. The Angels have the Rangers and the Astros have the D-Backs and the Twins have the Royals... We all know that. There is no need for 5 thoughts today. There is just one thought and one thought only. So... Here is something to think about: We're Gonna WIN TWINS... We're gonna Score!!! -------------------- Game-time forecast: 55 deg F, clear, 0% chance of rain or snow, winds from the E at 7mph. Lineups: ROYALS Escobar SS Zobrist DH Hosmer 1B Moustakas 3B Gordon LF Rios RF Colon 2B Butera C Dyson CF Young P TWINS Dozier 2B Mauer 1B Sano DH Plouffe 3B Rosario LF Hunter RF Hicks CF Suzuki C Escobar SS Santana P Go Twins! Play ball!!!! Click here to view the article

  3. These things have a way of working themselves out... - Riverbrian A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night, and in between he does what he wants to do. - Bob Dylan Don't wait for the Last Judgement. It takes place every day. - Albert Camus Brick walls are there for a reason. They're not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. - Randy Pausch Far and away the best prize life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing. - Theodore Roosevelt I cannot afford to waste my time making money. - Louis Agassiz All you have to decide is what you're going to do with the time you are given. - Gandalf The quality of a person's life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their field of endeavor. - Vince Lombardi No art, however minor, demands less than total dedication if you want to excel in it. - Leon Battista Alberti, (architect, painter and mathematician) My crystal ball is fuzzy - Lotfi Zadeh (inventor of Fuzzy Logic, when asked to predict the future) If I had a dollar for every million-dollar idea I've had, I'd be rich. - Greg Meyer
  4. Why Not... I'll add one as well. WINNAH!
  5. He was sharp... no doubt about it. The Aviles single was something that just kinda fell off the bat.
  6. I was there when Jim Kleinsasser dropped a pass in the end zone with 33 seconds left in the final game of the year for the NCC Champsionship at North Dakota against Northern Colorado. Final Score Northern Colorado 14 UND 9 Northern Colorado wins the title. The Pass hit Jim in that same difficult spot. It was like 12 degrees and It was hard because Jim was a beast and he was our beast but it was his final play in a UND Uniform and therefore the last memory. Until the Vikings took him in the 2nd round a few months later.
  7. I think I want one now. Don't have any so I'll have to settle for Pizza Rolls.
  8. Nice Job avoiding the Jinx with the "What are the Odds" String... You are a pro.
  9. I agree he is a good OF... He just doesn't do straight back or over the shoulder very well. WR would not be a spot for him in football.
  10. Molly said before the game that it would between 70-80 pitches for Tommy... probably because it was an emergency start and was out of routine.
  11. It just occurred to me... In order for this post to remain accurate. I will have to forever edit it. "My Place Grand Rapids... about 12 minutes a go".
  12. It's probably hard for you to tell. Of all the people I know... you are the closest thing to bi-coastal.
  13. Atta Boy Mauer The following comment isn't meant to start a Joe Mauer attack but. Joe Mauer is currently owned by 36.2% of all ESPN Fantasy Baseball Players. I'm one
  14. I remember where I was when I saw that. My Place Grand Rapids... About a minute a go.
  15. I remember where I was for the Al Michaels "Do you believe in Miracles call" My House... I was 15 and sitting at the kitchen counter... On a Stool... Watching on a black and white. I was also trying to untangle the phone cord as I was shouting to my friend. "Turn the game on... The U.S. Is gonna win!!!"
  16. It's dangerous but I love Rosario's aggressiveness. The guy is going to get burned on occasion but I give him high marks for base running.
  17. Woo Hoo... Fly Over Country My (Pause) Yeah... Still Fly Over Country...
  18. Other Big Moments that I remember where I was. Hrbek's Grand Slam against the Cardinals in Game 6 1987: Friends house again... I remember this one because as soon as it left the park I turned away from the TV to face everybody and I did the exact thing with my arms that Kent Hrbek did... I turned away and I had no idea that Hrbek was copying me. Jack Morris Game 7 in 1991: I was at my cheap apartment in Grand Forks watching with my wife. I could barely take it. I kept moving around the apartment to find a lucky chair or spot. It was about the 7th inning when my wife yelled at me to JUST STOP... FIND A SPOT AND STAY THERE. I think I was sitting on her lap when Gene Larkin drove in the game winner. I told her she was my lucky spot. She couldn't respond because she couldn't breath.
