  1. Darvish is still hitting mid 90's with his fastball that he will also cut and sink as he mixes in a variety of breaking pitches. He's a unique pitcher in terms of stuff. If he gets back to trusting his entire assortment like he did when he was younger... I'd take the gamble. Darvish didn't look like the same pitcher in the World Series. It was like he was avoiding his breaking stuff. I'm less excited about Arrieta. I just have a thing against those cross body guys. I'd guess his velocity will be below 90 soon.
  2. Otani is from the Iwate Prefecture Nishioka is from the Osaka Prefecture Not a good comparison
  3. I keep them held high until the PK takes the field in the 4th quarter of a playoff game. Just like everybody else I assume.
  4. I'm a Vargas guy I believe he received chances to prove himself last year and didn't. However... I also believe that he didn't fail to the point that he needed a bus ticket. He's young... He's affordable and he can hit the ball a long way. If he fixes a couple of issues... and players do fix issues every once in awhile. He could turn into something that everybody needs. I'm quietly hoping that he has a place on the roster next year.
  5. And after the big apple thriving. We would have been pissed!!!
  6. Landing both Darvish and Otani would be the greatest Twins off-season ever. I'm going to keep my expectations in check because I've never been allowed to reasonably have such expectations.
  7. Strictly speaking from a "how does he look on our roster" standpoint. YES... Absolutely... YES I have no idea what he would cost... I have no idea how his cost would compare to others who might be available. All of that aside... We could use the guy... I think he's fantastic.
  8. It's all about the splinters for me. He got all of them on the field without anybody getting splinters in their hind end from bench time.
  9. Based on the results expectation formula that exists somewhere to make these determinations. It should be Paul. However... My personal choice is AJ Hinch because I like how he did it. He had a full roster of players to mix in and utilize. That is both an advantage and a skill that some managers don't possess. So I'm going with AJ but think it should be Paul.
  10. I don't know what verb or adverb means but Breslow means "well under budget" in German.
  11. Will the New Front Office show support to a young team that reached the playoffs? Will they support the steps up by Buxton, Rosario and others by acquiring the bullpen arms necessary to compete at a top team level? Did they notice the bullpens being built by their competitors? Or will they Craig Breslow the way through the problem? I will be very curious
  12. Stockpile When the Twins win the World Series in 2018 they will be glad that they stockpiled. The Astros Had Gattis, Beltran, Maybin and Fisher on the bench. You have a young squad that just made the playoffs. It's time to support them by supplementing the roster in every nook and cranny.
  13. If the trade would have happened. If DeLeon would have thrown 40 professional Innings... including a 6.75 ERA in Rochester over 12 innings in 2017. If Dozier hit 30 plus Home Runs with the Dodgers in 2017. The immediate result on TD would be a public hanging of the brand new front office from the majority of us. It would have taken multiple years before they are forgiven... if ever. It would have been a real bad first impression that would last. I give them credit for a fantastic non-trade... and I will still give them credit if DeLeon eventually becomes a dominant MLB Starter.
  14. Asking Byron Buxton to adjust his defensive playing style is like asking a Lion to eat vegetables.
  15. May you gather as much stamina as you can Tom because many of us have become addicted. I'll never take these things for granted. Daily content like you provide is VERY HARD to do. Each blank page is a project. It makes your impressiveness more impressive.
  16. I'll plead for one of those super bullpens like the other playoff teams have. Get that.. and look out.
  17. Great Year!!! Sad to see it end. The Yankees will give the Indians all they can handle.
  18. This would be the perfect time for Joe Mauer to pull the ball to RF. Perfect time Joe... Right Here... Right Now.
  19. I'm Ok with the K there. I just didn't want a DP. Let's get Grossman on
  20. 2.3 Innings for Robertson and he is out there again.
  21. I'd give you a like but I have none left to give. The jar is empty. I need a bigger Jar.
  22. Well... Joe G is apparently using Robertson like it's the playoffs. I was hoping they'd bring in the next guy.
