  1. That 0-1 pitch to the 3rd batter was super duper filthy.
  2. Texas is hitting like 220 on the season and yet we appear to be absolutely terrified of them today.
  3. I hate it when a big hit goes right where a defender would have been without the shift
  4. May have found it.... https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/gamefeed?game_pk=490385&type=exit_velocity&chart_view=pitch&chart_type=sbp&inning=&count=&batter_hand=&pitcher_hand=&filter= Looks to me like it was the Napoli double. They gave that a 27% catch probability?
  5. Where are people doing their analysis of Statcast info? I was trying (and failing) to lookup the catch probability of the play on Monday night when Buxton laid out for that ball, that he didn't catch. I think it was Gomez's double in the 3rd or Napoli's double in the 2nd.
  6. In other news Kansas City's DH tonight is batting .118 and he's not the lowest in the starting lineup.
  7. I'm curious how foul Buxton's ball to RF was. The camera made it look pretty close.
  8. Seriously, what's with the protection of the defender at the expense of the pitcher? Both Sano and Dozier had balls hit right at them that they whiffed and cost the Twins runs. Ruled hits. If those aren't errors then why do we even bother with the stat?
  9. I see teams now have enough data to shift Kepler. Awesome
  10. If we can't call that play (and sanò's play) an error then why do we even have the stat
  11. Ps. Is there a place that has all of that data?
  12. I'm guessing that single to left by Encarnacion was over 110. He destroyed that ball. A little elevation and that ball was long gone.
  13. Rochester's pitchers are listed as "TBD" for the next three days. Today would be the normal day for Berrios to pitch. Is something brewing?
  14. Rosario is the black hole that will not let Polanco's brightness escape his event horizon
  15. Based on Salazar's numbers after the first trip through the lineup.... we're toast
  16. That looks like a covert mission to see if Grossman should be starting in LF over Rosario
  17. Anybody have an update on his injury? A cursory google search yielded nothing.
  18. People keep talking about how this is better than an 0-9 start, while I agree, now that we've played 11 games, are we going to change it up? Like... Sure beats a 7-17 April Sure beats a 10-31 first quarter of the season. Where's our bar now? ps. There's a decent chance that by the end of the week, we will have gotten to our win total from the first quarter of last season.
  19. Since most of the games have been during the work day, I haven't seen as many as I'd like, but here's my impression of the hitting... We aren't hitting like we would expect, but the hits we are getting are bunched together with walks. So individual players are underachieving as a whole, but the team is overacheiving
  20. How the inning went: Polanco struck out swinging. Sanó doubled to deep center. Castro singled to deep right, Sanó scored. Mauer hit for Gimenez. Mauer singled to left, Castro to second. Rosario flied out to left. Kepler hit for Buxton. Kepler popped out to third. MN 1 - DET 2 How the inning could have went without that ridiculous lineup: Polanco struck out swinging. Sanó doubled to deep center. Castro singled to deep right, Sanó scored. D Santana pinch runs for Castro Mauer singled to left, D Santana to third Rosario flied out to left. D Santana tags and scores from 3rd Kepler hit for Buxton. Kepler popped out to third. MN 2 - Det 2
  21. Funny... the Twins haven't been valuing 1b for 3 years Hey-oooooh
