  1. Meanwhile the Phillies dropped by $115M
  2. Up a smooth $115M over last year.
  3. September Buxton: Leg Kick Spring Training Buxton: Leg Kick (Article about "the leg kick is my thing now") First AB this season: Toe tap Me: "WTF?"
  4. K-rate as a metric is meaningless in SSS (which I know you know) Just say 6K in 10AB
  5. Didn't he have two five-star catches. The one that made the highlight reels was made great by the fact that he broke the wrong way, then slipped. A "normal" CF that makes a good break on the ball, probably makes that play The other one was the catch that, if I was a betting man, the analytics say was a better catch (break, top speed, range, etc)
  6. Sano has the hardest hit HR of the year so far.
  7. FSN is on pace for 648 guest appearances in the booth
  8. I'll watch because there's nothing better than closely following a baseball team. Other sports might have more exciting games and right now other Minnesota teams are better relative to their leagues, but having a game almost every day is something the other sports just can't compete with. When you team is going good, you want to watch them every night. I'm watching because 2015. I'm watching because our lineup could be in the 5-10 range in baseball. I'm watching because the people who suffered through 1994-2000 enjoyed the following decade more than those that didn't.
  9. LOL at people being "angry" Seems like you might need to reevaluate things if you're getting angry over baseball decisions. Disappointed? Fine. Checked out? Fine. Angry? Please.
  10. Because I like watching baseball, especially teams that I'm emotionally invested in.
  11. That Rosario is a real firecracker. Lots of passion. Dozier hits too many HR for 2b... should move to a corner OF spot Suzuki was a very cerebral player #SI80sTakes
  12. Damn. You beat me by 50 minutes.
  13. Rosario is like an NBA player, in that any little bit of confidence (deserved or undeserved) can result in a rediculously good stretch or rediculously bad stretch
  14. I never understood the "keep him out of pressure situations by batting him 9th" line of thinking (not just for Buxton). If a player is so fragile that they can't mentally handle certain spots in the lineup, then there's a problem. Also, is there REALLY that much less pressure batting 9th? I'd rather show confidence in young players and put them where you want them to end up.
  15. Do we think this is the lineup order that Molitor is going to go with (other than Gimenez)?
  16. What dice are you rolling. If Sano and Buxton don't pan out we are screwed whether they are signed long term or not. Rolling the dice is NOT signing them to an extension (not that I'm advocating that)
  17. Let's see if this Twitter link works....
  18. I agree that it's not perfect, but were moving the SLG not the OBP. Granted a double has more run-scoring potential than a single and a SB, however, at the same time, a single and a CS has significantly more run-scoring potential than a pop-out. I'd be interested to know how WAR treats SB (and CS). Just trying to represent a base-stealer's contributions better than a standard triple slash.
  19. His Effective OPS was 809 eSLG = (TB+SB-CS) / AB
  20. Well, since Molitor hasn't exactly proven to be a very good foreseer, I would say there is an excellent chance something unforeseen happening.
  21. If they are on track to finish with 78 wins, there is no way they will trade those guys away.
  22. Malcolm Gladwell would be pleased.
  23. Strange that there was no mention of BYTO in the write up. Didn't most of the original visitor traffic come from there?
  24. Was there a season I don't know about where we played 180 games
