    I think the Twins go after Giles. The price will probably be lower now and maybe if we get him we put him on the IL or something to rest up for a playoff push.

    I wasn't a huge fan of the Romo trade off the bat, but I love players with that kind of energy. Hopefully he is effective for the Twins.

    The reality that we could very well be tied with Cleveland by the end of tomorrow is just mind blowing. Twins fans are putting a lot of faith in Cleveland not performing against the good teams in their upcoming schedule. Just don't be surprised if they keep on playing great baseball against those teams with that pitching staff they have. Twins seemed too comfortable with that 11.5 game lead, and this is what happens.

    I guess the deciding factor in determining if it's a good trade or not will be if he's reliable for us. Maybe I got ahead of myself for not liking the trade, but just looking at it at face value and thinking about past deadline trades the Twins have made by acquiring aging relief pitchers I'm just not a big fan.

    The reason I point out the 7.9 K/9 is that it's at his lowest in his career. His 1.2 WHIP is among the highest of his career. I don't like the trade at all.

    Romo has a 7.9 K/9 and a 1.2 WHIP and is 36 years old. We gave up a great prospect for an aging pitcher with mediocre stats. Same old same old.

    Pineda has been very underrated in regards to his importance to this team. He's an almost guaranteed quality start every time he pitches recently. If the playoffs were tomorrow, I'd have him as the Twins #3 starter in an ALDS.

    I'd say Pineda has been our second most consistent starter over the last couple weeks. Even more than Odor.

    The way guys are pitching coming up from AAA I bet Trevor May is sweating a little. One more bad outing from him and his locker's name plate might be replaced with Allen.

    Sano is a solid third baseman in my opinion. Obviously he's just not used to playing first base.

    I understand why teams make moves like this, but I am also poking fun of the Twins for historically not making trades that benefit their team down the playoff stretch. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the only trade the front office makes before the deadline.
