    Garver may never be a gold glove catcher, but he sure played a heck of a game yesterday. Going 4/5 and receiving well over 200 pitches and blocking all those Gibson dirt balls was encouraging. I'm sure he'll get the day off today, so that stick will be missed.

    "Trevor Hildenberger has become a proven commodity" I'm gonna have to go ahead and disagree with this one, especially going into just game 9. He was great as a rookie in '17 and then started to follow that up in '18 until the second half meltdown. I suppose overuse could be an excuse, but Baldelli hasn't shown that he won't fall into that same trap (especially with Rogers so far). I think the tint on the rose-colored glasses needs some adjustment closer to clear.

    Going 3-4 on an early season road trip against these teams was never going to be the end of the world. That's worst case scenario at this point. Hopefully, they can steal one from the Mets and have a winning road trip.
