  1. I grew up in the 40s and 50s. The baby blues are symbolic of "nightie-nightie" in my jammies.
  2. But the signing points to the lack of potential in the pipeline,
  3. O OT: Love Plouffie but I just can stand Jomboy's voice. <Clicks off sound>.
  4. Someone help me understand the pic/graphic at the top of the article. Can't solve the puzzle any better than the Pohlad family seemingly can't solve theirs.
  5. Derek Faley traded offices...from exec suite to "The Farm ..."
  6. LOL. I looked up "Jeremy Zucker" when I wanted to find out just a bit of background on the understudy "Jeremy Zoll." How little I know. The former Haverford catcher will have to heavily lean on skipper Derek Shelton during Spring Training; TPohlad surely doesn't know the game.
  7. He asked for them in a post. Size 13 foot so there is plenty with which to work.
  8. I chose to rearrange my sock drawer and throw out the 'singles.'
  9. When I look at Tucker and now Bichette's contract, I just can't get my arms around these. $60MM/yr for Tucker $42MM/yr for Bichette Really? Man, I am getting old.
  10. I followed Willi once he moved on to Chicago. I believe the trade affected him mentally. He batted for league average while here (75% of his ABs) and dropped 70 points for the Cubs in his 25% of the season with them.' I don't have a good handle on all the defensive IF changes (holy merrygoround) so can't speak to how he fits in.
  11. Goes into effect this year. I got a chuckle out of Derek Shelton's idea on it, courtesy of the Strip. "“My early thought — I don't know if I should say this — I don't think the pitchers should ever challenge,” Twins manager Derek Shelton said at the MLB winter meetings last month. “Pitchers think everything is a strike.”
  12. I saw the title of the post and said, "Self, you have been miscalling him Ozzie Guillen all these years." Whoops.
  13. I know what you are trying to say but find it an odd way to discuss defensive limitations for a person who has ascended to MLB status.
  14. Love Joe but I don't see the sense of allowing him to pitch in WBC. Joe fades during the 2nd half of the year. He is needed for wins in early part of season. He needn't be showcased in the WBC. Any teams interested in him know his stuff already.
  15. Hell will freeze over before any of us see MLB books.
  16. Since we will never see the books, you might be right. I believe debt was created by the Pohlads merely drawing down the cash and investing elsewhere where they felt they needed to put cash to work.
  17. I am interested in the story from a business sense and on field baseball. I am surprised that owners are letting hedge funds into the club. Will be interesting to watch the business story unfold, though I have less hope/optimism for what we are going to see on the bases. Ugh...lee.
  18. I love Polanco but $40MM for two years? Over paid him.
  19. I will listen to every game that Gray pitches against the Yanks. Love the grit and trash talking. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6855549/2025/12/02/sonny-gray-did-not-want-to-pitch-for-yankees/?source=athletic_user_shared_article_copylink&smid=url-share-ta “What did factor into my decision to come to Boston, it feels good to me to go to a place now where, you know what, it’s easy to hate the Yankees, right?” he said. “It’s easy to go out and have that rivalry and go into it with full force, full steam ahead. I like the challenge.”
  20. For Gasper, Twins are offering season pass to the Rockies or WSox. You pick.
  21. Inexcusable. Market told him he wasn't going to get $1.7BB; plan B should have been greased like a slick hog. It wasn't.
  22. Another one of those back-loaded contract. Gray earns $31MM 2026. I had forgotten those terms. Not quite sure what Dodgers are going to do when those chickens come home to roost.
  23. Sonny Gray to the Red Sox. https://www.mlb.com/news/sonny-gray-red-sox-cardinals-trade?partnerId=it-20251125-15839582-mlb-1-A&utm_id=it-20251125-15839582-mlb-1-A&lctg=89773477
