  1. This game has sort of sucked, but I think the Twins are gonna win this sucka. 9th inning heroics straight up!
  2. I actually can, but I spend very little time with baseball. Most of my time is spent helping football players make great plays and getting touchdowns. Their celebrations are touching and to be honest with you, I am a bit of an ego-maniac... I love the praise and attention.
  3. Sorry son. I never have made a play like that.
  4. I like Snoop Dogg also, but I think the lyrics are a smidge off.
  5. Ehhh! (Double Thumbs Up) Don't forget about the Arcolas.
  6. Snake Pliskin made it through this situation. So can Danny Santana.
  7. He was the Huge Rebel Starship that was destroyed by the fully operational Deathstar.
  8. What a satisfying game. It reminded me of "Return of the Jedi", with Hughes as Luke Skywalker, Willingham as Han Solo and his soldiers on Endor and Dozier as Wedge Antilles and Lando Calrissian.... sealing the deal. The Empire has been destroyed - at least for today.
  9. I 100% agree with this. I am a Joe Mauer Fan, but enough is enough. No more excuses. No matter how it looks on paper - get Mauer out of the 2 hole. Put him in a more demanding position in the line-up. I understand that not every player can be filled with fire and glory. This may pertain to you Joe. You have two infant kids and a wife, and that can be a handful, you are blessed beyond almost everyone's Joe Blow situation, most men or women have children and they become better executors of their plight in a much, much, much, more lesser situation. Joe. you do not owe any of us an apology, just get your "bleep" together. We will champion you!!! It would be a great disappointment to find out you are complacent and empty. I still believe.
  10. Deep inside the forest is a door into another land, Here is our life and home, We are staying, here forever in the beauty of this place all alone, We keep on hoping... Maybe, there's a world where we won't have to run, and Maybe, there's a time we'll call our own, Living free in harmony and majesty, Take me home, Take me home.
  11. I would have to believe that this event will somehow be incorporated into the Alien Intervention philosophy/scenario. I do believe it happened, but there had to be some kind of unnatural/extraterrestrial assistance.
  12. Nice win. It is certainly nice to see see the ball bounce the Twins way. I have not chimed in on this season until a few days ago and at that time I did not have much to say, but, I like this team a whole helluva a lot compared to the last few years and I get they are at best an "Even Steven" team. I think Dozier, Plouffe, and Suzuki have appeared to become leaders on this team, but I cannot ignore Arcia's passion and explosiveness. He may not be a leader on this club, but he can start some fires.... and I love it!!! It is players like Arcia that continue to draw me to watching MLB. A short losing streak ends - let's begin a winning one. 3-1 against the Rangers and a sweep of the Yanks!!! Here's to hoping! +++++++++++++++
  13. You know me Brian - I reads real goods, justs likes my is last thread.
  14. I hate the Kardashians. If we break it down to the basics, Joe Mauer has become one of the Kardashians. Once upon a time a baseball player could play in this city without being scrutinized wrongfully. Kent Hrbek can do no wrong, Puckett is a prophet of god, Harmon Killebrew is the nice guy who is the best of the rest. WTF!!! Have we all lost our minds?!!! Social media has spoiled us and ****ed up everything sacred and left me feeling at a deficit. Hrbek likes to drink a beer or two, and Killebrew may have kept his private life close to the vest, I am sure he has his sins, Puckett was probably a wife beater.... Mauer is the ho-hum boy from everyone's neighborhood in St. Paul. Modern times have ****ing destroyed us. We rely on too many unworthy tidbits to relay to us the truth. Modern media has let us down, It is twisted and bent on a fantastic outcome. Leave Joe Mauer alone. He has not done anything to draw Hollywood attention, he quietly hits .320 and OPS's .875. The god of the Twins is Kirby Puckett and he supposedly held a gun to his wife's head. He may have been the driving force in winning MN a World Series or Two - Oh well, he is a ****ty person.
  15. Jason Kubel. When my scruffy bearded brother from another mother left after 2011, I was bummed. I thought his 2009 season was the beginning of something pretty swell, and then Target Field happened and got into his head and he left for greener hitting pastures. I did not think I would be as pleased as I am to have Kubel back in the fold. The 2nd time around is a charm - go drill some doubles off the RF wall and hit a few over the granite. It's good to have you back.
  16. Today's game will be the Twins only loss of this series. Plouffe, Colabello, and Kubel will lead the charge in averaging 9 runs per game the next 2. Thundercats HO!!!! http://www.chicagonow.com/alter-ego-maniac/files/2011/07/thundercats.jpg
  17. If you do it and I am on this site at that time, I will participate as a supportive gesture. I don't think anyone will judge you negatively for putting up that kind of thread.
  18. I'd like to think that Mauer is destined to be elected to the NBHOF, but I am from St. Paul and I am a Homer for my City Brethren. A few more .330+BA and .900OPS seasons would not hurt in sealing the deal, and of course, playing a mean 1B.
  19. Start a thread a few hours before the game begins on a daily basis. I am sure some posters will participate. And if not, no big deal, you gave it your best shot.
  20. We are 7 days into the season and so far the pitching has been extremely substandard, the offense has made the games watchable and for the most part enjoyable. If the Twins are .500ish team come late July and the offense is the real McCoy and the pitching rebounds (which you have to believe will happen... right?), I could see the Twins trading Correia, or maybe Pelfrey (very doubtful) if Meyer is kickin' down the door. Maybe a trade of Willingham or Kubel could happen, but if the Twins offense is going good come mid-summer, I would be shocked if the Twins traded them for anything less than a stellar product. It has been 3 years of crap baseball and if the product on the field is holding the attention of the fans, I cannot see them taking a deuce on the last two months of the season, driving the fans away. This is me being optimistic... who the hell knows what this year's team will become. It is too early to tell.
  21. During the baseball season my blood pressure numbers are Himalayan vs. Appalachian in the off season. To me that is sad with numbers.
  22. To be honest, I am pretty thrilled with the way the Twins have opened the 2013 season. They are 2-3, but I have liked the way a lot of the guys came out of the gate. Pedro Florimon has been put in a compromising situation this season. He definitely should have been placed on the DL and given some time in extended spring training to recover from his appendectomy surgery. Right now, no matter the the Twins choices, they should give Bartlett a chance to play SS on an everyday basis. In my opinion, Florimon and Escobar are not future type fixes to the Twins SS needs, and I feel they should give Bartlett a shot. Right now, we do not have a SS of the future, in that case you need to find out what you have and put the best available piece forward. Maybe Bartlett is the guy to fill the gap. 5 years ago he was an all-star with fantastic numbers, the two years surrounding him on the back and front end were acceptable. Bartlett's been out of MLB for 1.5 years. Who is to say he cannot be better than our other options? I guarantee he will be better than Florimon, in this day of age, you need some semblance of offense to go with your defense. Jason Bartlett is our best bet.
