  1. If you do not mind me asking - what was her experience? I'm curious, but I understand if you do not want to share.
  2. I am a little apprehensive about making this thread, but I thought it might be sort of fun... if there are participants. What experiences do we have with Extraterrestrials, Cryptic creatures, ghosts, etc... ? Personally, I have never had an experience in these kind of events, and I have no stories... and essentially, I am not a believer (E.T. excluded). There are a lot of folks who traverse this site, and might have a story to tell. I want to hear these stories. Sure, we can use this thread as a fictional platform, and if you choose to do so... (whatever). Let it ride my friends... make me a believer!
  3. http://extrapolater.files.wordpress.com/2007/03/bobby_kielty_hair.jpg ...and Ronald McDonald.
  4. The 2nd coming of Mickey Mantle...
  5. So you're the guy. Shame, shame. Jeesh... my tongue can only take so much abuse.
  6. I don't see a problem with it. That's the excuse I use when my performance is substandard at my job (Mall Restroom Cleaning Specialist).
  7. That is not Shane's fault. I blame the pitcher... bad pitch location and too much vaseline on the baseball.
  8. 1996 - although the pitching was atrocious, that was a pretty fun offense to watch. I remember watching the Twins on Television against the Tigers that season, scoring 20ish runs... fun game. I surmise that the Twins offense would have been even better if Puckett's eye didn't go the way of the Dodo that spring. Oh well, water under the bridge I guess.
  9. Geez Mom - that is gross!
  10. Sure, Sano having TD surgery would be a bummer, but it is not the end of the world. Sano will bounce back. Maybe things will not work out in a time frame people were reliant on... what do you do? **** happens. Plouffe will be sufficient. He will not be the uber prospect we hoped would be making his debut this season with excitement. We will accept it and move on from here. What else can one do?
  11. Damn Chief. Your wife is hot! What's your secret?
  12. Damn Ron, you are right. I thought having hairy palms was a myth.
  13. Miguel Cabrera:)
  14. I may be some dipstick yahoo, or a undiagnosed human disease. Either way, I am going to soundly pound my fist on the table of Joe Mauer's 2014 offensive performance. Joe will do as such this season: .354 BA 19HR's 119 BB 107 R He will also be selected to the all-star game as a reserve, will win the gold glove award at 1B and be top 3 in AL MVP voting. I'm feelin' it! I'm believing it! Let's get this MoFo show on the road!
  15. One example of the many reasons I chose booze, drugs, womanizing and rock n' roll over the MN Twins in the Mid-90's. http://www.tradingcarddb.com/Images/Cards/Baseball/648/648-206Fr.jpg
  16. I'm feeling your MoJo on this pick... I agree.
  17. To be honest, I like Puckett and Mauer the same. They both have brought factors to Twin's baseball that made you excited to watch a game that they were playing in. We can argue about OPS vs. being a clutch player all day long, but no conclusion will ever be made. Why would you want to argue it? We should feel privileged to have been graced by their baseball excellence. I cannot argue with a person who tells me there once was a free-swinging MN Twin who played with the passion of the gods and who was a big part of bringing us fans two World Series Championships... ...and I cannot argue with a person who tells me that there is a current Twin who is a wunderkind at the art of hitting and getting on base and he is one of the best to ever put on a Twins uniform. Puckett is in the HOF and I believe Mauer will get there also. I honor the past, live in the present, with my eye on the future. Puckett is a Minnesota Legend because of the big prize, who is to say that Joe Mauer will not be? The future still awaits us.
  18. He would have, except his career years were in 1999, 2006, and 2009 - years where lesser players had better years. No offense to Morneau, but 2006 should have been the year he took home the MVP. No complaints about that, but Derek Jeter, without an MVP, is still a MVP in my mind's eye. Hopefully, he has a trick up his sleeve and goes off offensively this year and then takes a walk down the long hall of going off on a good note.
  19. Baseball is weird sometimes. I believe Biggio should have been HOF on the first ballot. It looks like it will take 3 or 4 tries. Derek Jeter is better than Craig Biggio. If you do not believe that to be correct, you have never watched them play the game. Jeter will get 95% on his first ballot HOF vote... guaranteed.
  20. I do not find it amazing as those idiots are pretty much correct. Sure, Jeter has been overated as a defender, but at his peak he was very capable. Jeter is a historical offensive powerhouse at his position. I believe Jeter to be more consistent and a bit better offensively than Ripken, Jr. and Ripken is a sign post in the modern history of baseball shortstops. I have spent the last 30 years of my life watching baseball. I may be no guru, but it is insulting to me to strip away the greatness that Jeter has cemented in the game of baseball. Since the Mid-Nineties, To me, he is the face of Major League Baseball. Nuff Said...
  21. If I was on my meds I probably could have. Maybe next year.
  22. No 48's up my sleeve, but I discovered that Ryan Gosling had a brief career as a MN Twin using the Alias "Terry Jorgensen"... Fascinating.
  23. Maybe this has been said before and maybe not. I believe the moderators are doing an excellent job. I believe it is there ability to have a sense of humor and also a seriousness that lifts them above the average poster, that has lead to them being chosen for the task of being a Moderator. A lot of these guys/gals have families/important jobs in real life and they still dedicate their time to this site. To me, that says a lot. I really have a hard time believing that members are being singled out for infractions and what not - there is no Good Ol' Boys Club on this site. To me, what is being said in a negative fashion is either inexperience, sour grapes, or some weird kind of form of jealousy... for the most part. I am sure there are some exceptions. The Fellas and my Mom do a great job... be happy that you have them.
  24. It's not easy being the sex symbol of Twins Daily... but what the heck, somebody has to bring sexy back.
  25. What is the current approach? I don't believe there is one in the U.S. In the current day United States, I have a hard time seeing this country implementing the drug addiction solutions of Western Europe... hell, although progress is being made, we have have a ways to climb to reach the summit of Marijuana Mountain. Glunn, I agree with what you are saying. I just have a hard time seeing that being executed at this time and place in our country.
