  1. If he is hiting great this year it should give the FO the confidence to trade Eddie.
  2. Somehow I think with all the revenue streams the Twins have that Jim Pohlad will find a way to feed his family in 2020 and in the future.
  3. I like the idea of intermittent rest as opposed to a 6 man rotation. Skipping a turn now and then or taking a week or two off on the " Injured List".
  4. I hope the season long starting pitcher role works out for Madea. However the reality is that come late in the season, If we need him in the bullpen............
  5. I just want to express my gratitude to Twins Daily and all your fine writers. The content is first rate and really helps to get me through the long Minnesota winters. Looking forward to a special season, whether or not we go deep into the playoffs.
  6. When no big deal occurred in the fall, I kept telling my friends to be patient. The FO has shown me a willingness to do smart deals and to take their time for the market to evolve both for free agents and trading partners.
  7. Maybe this will inspire Jose to pitch even better and prove the FO wrong. The FO is clearly not in love with Jose, and they don't need to be. Winning can heal a lot of wounds and if Jose has a great year, the big payday will be there for him if he wants to stay with us. Otherwise......
  8. If you want quality from another team you have to give up some value to get it. Also, I do not accept that Chacin in a lock for a starting job with Twins. We will see how he does in Spring Training and how the Dobnyk does too.
  9. It would be interesting to see some stats regarding pitchers 3rd time through the order from people like Sandy Koufax, Jim Kaat, Roger Clemens, etc.
  10. I expect Miguel to eventually be an above average first baseman. Otherwise he will be the DH when Nelson Cruz moves on.
  11. The Cleveland starting pitching model is what the Twins are seeking. The last half of the season featured 3 starting pitchers all from the 2016 draft. They all pitched well.
  12. Given what the article says about Thorpe's pitch mix, I suspect the Twins will try to get him to change the mix such as by throwing more sliders.
  13. Projections, projections. In the Fall of 2016 most projections had Hillary beating Trump too. Say hello to President Hillary Clinton. So much for statistical projections.
  14. I keep thinking about last year's Cleveland team. In the 2nd half of the season they started 3 pitchers from the 2016 draft and all did well. That is the model that I believe we are following.
  15. Anyone of our 3rd base prospects such as TB has certainly been affected.
  16. We could use another good starting pitcher. It seems to me that we either trade Eddie, trade some prospects, or some combination of both to get the ptiching we need. I expect this to happen yet this winter.
  17. Great article. What a bullpen we are going to have this year !!
  18. I believe that the Twins will deal some prospects for pitching this season when the opportunity becomes available. It takes 2 to Tango.
  19. Sounds good to me. Maybe if we need room on the 40 man we can sneak him thru waivers. It is not clear to me if he was out of options or if Detroit simply gave up on him.
  20. Excellent article. Sports fans tend to be fickle with short attention spans.
  21. Great analysis. If Josh will sign for $110 million for 4 years let's pull the trigger and get it done.
