    You must not pay too much attention to his arm. 5 errors this year, and 4 assists. Range does seem underwhelming.

    He’s been very good this season…and his best availability since…well, practically ever. Also, it’s the 3rd season ever he’s cleared 100 games, having just barely cleared that mark last year…so, it’s not like the “the best season yet” was an incredibly high bar for him to clear.

    I wonder if they start making crew assignments based on specific series here down the stretch? I’d hate to think…for instance…that the Dodgers vs Padres, or Yankees vs Toronto would get Buckner’s crew in any remaining matchups.

    I wonder if Ober would have been offended if Buxton had asked him to be his pitcher at the Home Run Derby.

    Only themselves to blame. The union is…and always has been, dominated by the top-end of the money earners. The guys who have made it to their max payday. They’ve never prioritized the young major leaguer or the minor leaguer in negotiations. In fact they’ve done the opposite, conceding to ownership on issues related to the those players to ensure top $ potential for the top-end veterans. This seemed to change ever so slightly with the last CBA. But will it continue? No problem with Royce speaking his mind on it…although his 2025 production and the massive bonus at signing don’t make him the most sympathetic actor to raise the topic.

    Seem to be transitioning Raya to reliever? Maybe not…maybe just ‘stacking’. He can’t seem to get anyone out…or know where his pitches are going on a regular basis, so not sure it matters. The Saints saw our old friend Jordan Balazovic last night. Raya’s path and performance is starting to look too much like Balazovic’s.

    Yes, after your first 100 million or so, you’d think it would shift a bit toward the latter.

    Pitch anyone. I wouldn’t consider it codling with Ryan because he’d never ask for it. (And maybe they have approached him on the subject?) More protecting an investment rather having him rack up innings in games that don’t matter. Although, if you know you’re going to be unloading him…

    I don’t know why they haven’t skipped Ryan in the rotation yet…give him a break. I mean, there’s an argument to completely shutting him down. Not that I’d want that. He’s fun to watch.

    Buxton’s happy…not a peep out of him during this debacle, other than to praise ownership. If winning something…ever…is high on his professional priority list, it doesn’t show much.

    It’s that first time through the lineup for Bradley. Gotta figure out how to avoid letting him see the hitters for the first time. I can almost hear Rocco’s wheels grinding.

    Who is this Rodriguez guy everyone keeps talking about? Where is he? There’s been no evidence in the last 6 weeks that such a player exists in the org. I’ve looked. No word from the organization, the media, or this site on the status of this player. I can see that a Rodríguez was removed from a Saints game on July 12 with a ‘side strain’. But the trail goes dark almost immediately after that. Nobody seems to know where he is, or what he’s doing.
