    Agree on Witt. And yet, last week the Royals were a couple outs away from sweeping the Twins at home and without Witt.

    You don’t get unlucky against a 46-67 team that comes in of being swept by Colorado. You just play bad baseball.

    Don’t forget fielding. We just needed lots of pitching, a middle of the order bat, a platoon righty for a corner outfield spot, and better defense at several positions. That’s all we needed! Some would call this a sell situation. But I digress.

    And yet, they still have a reasonable chance of outperforming the current alternatives. Jenkins has a higher OPS in the same AAA league than Max Clark, and Clark has a 228 OPS+ in his first 4 games with Detroit. It happens. And if it doesn’t…it’s not like they would be taking playing time from Cal Ripken and Mickey Mantle.

    There’s 2nd-half Joe…and then there’s this. Getting knocked around by the 2026 Royals with AND without Witt Jr. Something’s wrong with the arm, right?

    Ergo, if a prospect has never fielded a ball in the majors,…true for 100% of prospects…it’s guaranteed that he’ll fail. Your logic is…astounding.

    You’re right. Jeffers sucks. We should bring up Lackey.

    Not buying that. They could make Jeffers play without a mitt and he’d have more value than the guys they’re playing. More likely the Pohlads simply didn’t have the balls to trade him…because you know…buying not selling is what the masses wanted. Possible but less likely, they plan on QO’ing him and think he’ll take it.

    Should have been selling, IMO. And I’d say the same if Kremer, Minter and Hoffman throw a combined no-hitter tomorrow.

    Whether I’m reading it or hearing it…I like it. Most of all, I’d like to SEE it.

    I remain confident that if we continue to play like we’ve been playing…and by that I mean 6 of every 9 games against the Royals…we make the postseason.

    He’s very “range challenged”. Canon for an arm, and isn’t going to embarrass himself with the glove, but they’re already starting to play him a bunch at 1B. You’re right, I don’t think they’re particularly wanting to put him in a major league outfield for long stretches.

    KC’s last win was Dobnak’s last start. Against the Twins. Were just swept by the Rockies. What? Me worry?
