  1. I give the Twins little or no chance to contend for the division title. I fully expect them to win half their games, but that ain't going to be enough, sports fans. I think the biggest problem this team will have in 2015 is, there are too many starting pitchers under contract. The Twins will have to decide early which pitchers will get Spring training innings. I think guys like Berrios and Meyer will not be given a chance to break through this "good enough" wall to win spots in the spring. The Twins can't win the division without 5 quality starters, and they are going to break camp with only 3 (Hughes, Santana, Gibson).
  2. I see a lot coming together, but that outfield is still a freakin' mess.
  3. I don't get any of the "Twins are not a contending team" discussion. Twins scored more runs than anyone in the last couple months of 2014. Five competent starters should be enough to push the Twins into contention.
  4. I think Santana has a lot of potential, but he really can't play shortstop. Can he learn? Who knows? Send him back to AAA if you want him to develop his shortstop skills. He's doing better in CF that anyone on the roster except Hicks, so using him as this year's backup CF is working for me.
  5. Nope, won't happen. I have heard on good authority that a proven closer is a myth. Boston will just move one of their average starters to the bullpen -- voila! instant closer. /sarcasm
  6. I still say it's Parmalee and his .237 batting average that should be looking over his shoulder.
  7. My money is on Gibson. Too early to tell -- we need to see more starts from these guys.
  8. Thank you thrylos for organizing all this information. The Twins pitching staff is a pretty big mystery to me this year. I am looking forward to your updates about both the starters and the relievers. I can't remember another year when the Twins pitching staff had so many spots up for grabs.
