  1. Only team in baseball that I hate is the White Sox. I was at US Cellular Field probably 5 to 6 years ago and went to use the restroom in my Mauer jersey. I have 4 White Sox that come up to me when I am using the urinal and start having a conversation if they should piss on me. Most awkward situation ever trying to walk between them after I have finished using the urinal. (I did not get stage fright even with the crowd! ;-) Ever since then, my hatred has grown. Never liked the Hawk much either. Time to bring out the brooms!
  2. I do not understand why we care where these prospects start to begin the season. Gonsalves had an underwhelming spring so it shouldn't be that much of a surprise he is AA with the options we have at AAA. I agree with others also, maybe the new FO does not hold Gonsalves and Gordon in high as regard as the old regime. Might be a good thing in the end.
  3. AL EAST: NYY - 94.5 OVER BOS - 91.5 OVER TOR - 81 OVER TBR - 77.5 UNDER BAL - 73 UNDER AL CENTRAL: CLE - 94.5 UNDER MIN - 82.5 OVER KC- 71.5 UNDER DET - 68.5 UNDER CWS - 68 OVER AL WEST: HOU - 96.5 OVER LAA - 84.5 OVER SEA - 81.5 OVER TEX - 77.5 UNDER OAK - 74.5 UNDER NL EAST: WAS - 92.5 OVER NYM - 81 UNDER PHI - 75.5 OVER ATL - 74.5 UNDER MIA - 64.5 OVER NL CENTRAL: CHI - 94.5 UNDER STL - 85.5 OVER MIL - 84.5 OVER CIN - 73.5 UNDER PIT - 73 UNDER NL WEST: LAD - 96.5 OVER ARI - 85.5 UNDER COL - 82 UNDER SFG - 81.5 OVER SD- 69.5 UNDER I would bet the house on the Twins going over that win total with the state of the AL Central. Wife doesn't approve of my betting methods though, surprise surprise!
  4. This could be the most over hyped thread I have ever read on this site. I was expecting something major, not a comment how he can be ready in 10 AB's. Meaningful baseball can't get here soon enough. FWIW it only takes me 10 swings to get ready for slow pitch softball!
  5. Absolutely love the signing! Never can have too many quality hitting options.
  6. Yu Darvish was never coming to pitch for the Twinkies. He wanted to be in a large market and preferably New York & Los Angeles. That is why he got the opt out clauses he wanted. I do not think that should be held against the front office or the owners. Now if they don't do anything to improve the starting staff between now and the start of the season I can see some reasons to be pissed. I also want to see what some of the prospects can do also.
  7. I have season football tickets to Iowa State Football and the commercial delays in college football are twice as bad as the NFL. NFL has found ways to keep games around 3 hours while the college football games we attend are close to 4 hours. If my family and friends didn't love the tailgating and hanging out feature we would have abandoned them along time ago.
  8. I actually like the fact that the Yankees went out and got Stanton. Forces the Twins hands one way or another to improve the 2018 squad. The Mariners and Angels are also looking to improve in a big way. 85 wins will not get us into to the playoffs next year but we also have the advantage of playing the Royals, Tigers, and White Sox 19 times. AL is going to be loaded, can't wait for 2018 season!
  9. I am hoping they sign someone to give a little more pop off the bench. I agree with others that you are hoping they invest in the pitching staff so they can keep a 12 man pitching staff most of the season.
  10. The Cubs and Nationals game was even more unbearable yesterday once the top of the 8th inning happened. It had to take like 30 minutes minimum, I told my wife this why I can't watch a full game anymore. Multiple visits by the catcher during the same at bat is inexcusable. Relief pitchers just take forever to make a pitch.
  11. Gee has been pretty good out of the bullpen so i can see him getting in the game when it is somewhat close. We just have limited options and I trust him over Duffey, Meija, Boshers, and maybe even Pressley. Doesn't instill a lot of confidence for sure beyond the top 3 or 4 out of the bullpen. Hoping Big Erv pitches 7 or 8 innings.
  12. The roster is what it was and we will rely on the starting nine. I have a hard time seeing many scenarios where we will be pinch hitting. People putting these decisions on Paul Molitor are funny, the FO has more pull than he does on setting the roster. With that said, they have been successful in the postseason with Cleveland so I will give them the benefit of the doubt that they are smarter than us average fans. Go Twins!
  13. I think he has adapted well with the younger players over time, I love him having confidence in Kepler to get a hit off of Miller last night in the big situation. Obviously it didn't work but Kepler has been hitting lefties better the last 2 weeks and he also had a big double in the 9th. I would extend Molitor 2 years with an option for a 3rd so they can evaluate him with a better bullpen and starting rotation. If he leaves much to be desired after next season, then he can be let go. Go Twins!
  14. We are still up 1.5 games in the wild card to shed a bright light on the situation. Good luck to Colon today.
  15. I just have a hard time seeing a scenario that our beloved Twins don't make the playoffs. For as resilient as they have been throughout the year, I see no reason not to be confident going into these last 3 weeks. This team is playoff bound and I think we still can overtake the Yankees for the top spot. I am a betting man and I am going to be playing the ML on the Twins the rest of the season. $$$
  16. Mike Pagliarulo was a key contributor to my favorite Twins team of all-time, the 1991 miracle World Series team. :-)
  17. Delmon "I Hate Target Field" Young
  18. Rick Reed, just remember the great year he had in 2002 helping us to the playoffs for the first time since the 1991 WS.
  19. I would have no problem if they extended him for 2 more years at that figure. Just would be looking to package Gordan in a trade for SP or RP, whatever Falvey and Co. thought was the best options. Going forward with multiple options for the middle infield will be interesting and a nice problem to have.
  20. Worst atmosphere I have ever experienced for a baseball game. Give those Tampa teams credit for being good for years with so little support.
  21. This whole thread seems pointless besides the trade value discussion of Rosario, otherwise he has performed well and hit the ball hard last night. I am glad he swung at the first pitch. I just turned and told my wife that sucks when I saw he hit right into the shift. Baseball happens :-)
  22. Great for him. Love rewarding his patience in the system but it is backed up by solid performance in the minors. Hope he has some positive impact in September. Great write-up Seth.
  23. Who saw that ending coming, with a HBP?!
  24. Rosario and Mauer going to win the game here!
