  1. Great article and thanks for the link Seth. This team is resilient that is for sure.
  2. Agreed why would they leak it to Souhan of all the journalists in the Twin Cities. Seems far fetched.
  3. Why do we think Polanco bunted to sacrifice Mauer to 3rd? His whole approach signaled that he was bunting for a hit. Did Molitor state that Polanco was instructed to sacrifice bunt Mauer over? The White Sox using the bunt that early is extremely laughable considering Gibson was on the mound. Nice win though against a bad team. Hopefully we can take 4 out of 5 with Santana and Berrios going the next 2 games.
  4. The article really isn't that harsh on him, more just stating some long term concerns. If he has gained 20-25 pounds over the season I would be concerned if I was the Twins management for sure. On a side note though, it would be great if the Twins and even all the local teams refused to talk to Souhan and Hartman as they think they know it all. Reusse isn't far behind in terms of idiocy.
  5. I would love to have Verlander for the next 2 years but they haven't given many details on what prospects they expect and how much money they will eat. I would like to know what the Tigers thoughts are and expectations for a return. this team is really close and you would like to improve them for 2018 and 2019. That 28 million a year might be better than throwing 6 year contracts at Arrieta and Darvish for 20-25 million a year.
  6. I agree it is a very hard job and a good umpire usually isn't appreciated. The issue I have with umpires is when they seem to want to show up players with ridiculous ring them up routines. To be honest no one gives 2 Sh*** about the umpire, we all are watching because we love the game of baseball and the super talented players.
  7. I have no problem with the trades at all because it does bring depth to minor league pitching which we need after seeing all the injuries we have had down there. I was an avid Kintzler fan but he could not keep that pace up all season. He was showing kinks in the armor the last week he was here. The Garcia trade I really like because Enns could end up being better than Jaime altogether for the rest of the year. The offense has improved and that is the biggest reason we will make the playoffs. If Sano comes around and improve his K rate we could make some noise in the post season. I personally have full confidence in the front office and am excited to see what the offseason brings!
  8. There is no way Enns should have been allowed to face another batter in that situation. What if he give up a grand slam to the next batter and the game is tied? All the momentum is gone and who knows how the game ends up. The bullpen was rested and ready to give 6+ plus innings of relief. We are all about winning ballgames right now! He can have another start in 5 days to evaluate again. Molitor seems to have a good feel for the team right now so I have condfidence in his decision making at this point. Go Twins!
  9. There is no doubt I would make a call on Verlander and see how much salary they would eat and what their demands were for prospects. He would definitely upgrade the rotation and we have Mauer's salary coming off the books next year. Would probably be safer than giving Arrieta a huge contract. Summer is so much more enjoyable when the Twins are relevant in August!
  10. Hell I even like Jack Morris much more than Bert for sure. Maybe I won't have to hear how the weather in California is next year. :-)
  11. Relief appearances like the one Pressly had yesterday are definitely encouraging. His breaking ball seems to be much improved since the start of the season. Hitters can't sit dead red on his fastball lately it seems. Hope there is more to come from him because he can be a shut down reliever. We need him badly to be a 7th and 8th setup man because the options right now are below average for sure.
  12. We have hit home runs in 16 straight games. Are we really going to say we have a lack of power in the lineup? We may not have 3 or 4 elite power hitters. The lineup does have plenty of options that could put up 15 to 25 HR's every year up and down the lineup. I like the balance better than hoping for 1 or 2 guys to save the day.
  13. The whole accusation is overblown and Parker should not have to explain himself about a couple Twitter posts. People are barking up a tree for no reason. Bernadino on the other hand is a complete drama queen. Always looking to stir the pot on stories that have no basis. He knows how to piss off a whole organization that is for sure.
