  1. Except he didn't really get playing time anywhere until Koskie left after the 2004 season. Cuddyer was jerked around quite a bit in his early seasons while the Twins trotted out legendary players like Jose Offerman at DH and Dustin Mohr in right field.
  2. Aw, come on. Cuddyer won a batting title in freakin' Colorado. Michael Cuddyer was not a very good player in his first few seasons. Part of that was how the Twins handled him but he just wasn't good. Michael Cuddyer is actually a pretty good and interesting comp for Jose Miranda.
  3. We're introducing something we use on the other sites: community voting for the top 20 prospects. All of your votes will count for 50% of the total, with the other half going to the writers. Voting will be open all of this week with ballots needing to be in by Sunday evening. No one is losing their eligibility from the current list so everybody on the list is qualified to stay on it. Give us your top 20! Here is the current list: https://twinsdaily.com/minnesota-twins-top-prospect-rankings/
  4. That’s just constipation. Maybe see a doctor.
  5. That does seem to be the case at times. I doubt it’s true, I think people are just too invested in specific results, but it can feel like hate-watching.
  6. It’s also okay to just not get aggravated by a sporting team that plays 162 times over six months.
  7. This offense is so hot right now
  8. I haven’t been able to watch a ton of Twins baseball this week but what I’ve seen, Miranda has made some really ugly throws. I agree he also has a brick on his left hand but if feels like his shoulder is affecting his throws, too.
  9. Honestly, maybe the Twins should be giving Kyle Garlick reps at first base in St Paul. He'd be a really nice platoon option if he could also play first base and it might increase his likelihood of sticking in the majors for longer.
  10. He also has 21 PAs against LHP. It's way too early to drop a platoon guy who performed acceptably well against LHP as recently as last year. Maybe he's cooked. That's a real possibility but not something I'm going to declare after the equivalent of six games of hitting.
  11. Oh, just the LHP thing. If someone didn't know your intent, the reading of that paragraph is pretty funny.
  12. I know it's just a couple of typos but this paragraph is both hilarious and confusing af. (though I understand what you're trying to say here)
  13. What's Jim Leyland up to nowadays? (other than chain smoking)
  14. Yep. I tend to lean toward wRC+ and wOBA but OPS+ is just fine. As you said, they generally agree with one another anyway. I suspect wOBA gets there faster than wRC+ or OPS+ but you're dealing with such small sample sizes in those cases that one should be skeptical of every metric (as is the case here).
  15. After the past couple of games, the clock is now ticking for Trevor Larnach. For the first time, Kirilloff played three consecutive games in St Paul. Over the past week, Larnach has a .471 OPS with 11 strikeouts in 23 plate appearances. If Kirilloff keeps playing regularly and Larnach keeps striking out, I think a move might be made in the coming week.
  16. Donovan Solano has a 90 OPS+ and bats right-handed. I don't see him going anywhere for awhile and IMO, that's the right call. Revisit this a month from now and see what the numbers look like.
  17. It’s the beginning of May. If your starter has lost 3mph off their fastball and it’s relatively late in the game, you get him the hell out of the game.
  18. Oh yeah, he was technically demoted.
  19. I don't think the team is in a hurry to do anything with Kirilloff. Larnach is treading water while Kirilloff hasn't played three consecutive games in St Paul yet. I think the front office is going to let this play out for awhile and see if a clear answer emerges.
  20. I generally agree with this. Miranda has some nice upside with the bat but it's always going to dragged down by the glove. Teams need 2-3 win players, that's fine if he ends up in the "pretty good everyday player" category. But between Lewis and Lee, I think a better option will present itself in the next 12-18 months.
  21. In that final batter, Ryan threw four fastballs that came in at 89, 90, 89, 90. That's roughly 3mph slower than he was sitting earlier in the game. It's not only about pitch count, people. The manager's job is to actually watch his pitchers out there.
  22. We can move this to another forum later but this needs to be relished. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRwYtXyM/
  23. I'm going to add it to the list of things to consider later in the season. It's a really good idea, I just haven't come up with a good way to streamline it.
