  1. I just don't get why hitters don't swing at 3-0 pitches more often.
  2. Notice how I haven't excused Jeffers being horrible at the plate whatsoever. But okay.
  3. Catchers lose blocked balls all the time and nothing came of it. If Jeffers hadn't looked helpless at the plate in this series, no one would be throwing a fit about the lost ball.
  4. Take a breath, man. I know it's intense but that happens to catchers all the time, even the best ones.
  5. Avoided the 1-2-3 inning and ran up the pitch count even further. Not a perfect outcome but I'll take it.
  6. Astros fans booing Correa is a perfect example of why everything from Texas is terrible. Just the dumbest thing ever. The Astros didn't even TRY to retain him.
  7. Bummer about the double play but get the boys back to the plate in five minutes, Pablo!
  8. Twins doing what they need to do against Valdez. AND FARMER
  9. I like Kershaw. I wish he could get the postseason monkey off his back, even if I have no love for the Dodgers themselves.
  10. The Twins are in a pretty good position today. The key of the game is not letting Valdez go 7-8 innings, get into the Houston pen early, and sub back in all the LHB in the fifth and sixth.
  11. The outcome of the game is not the only enjoyment I derive from watching it. The Twins game was engaging and exciting for all but two innings. I had fun watching, even if the outcome wasn't ideal. Whereas I turned off the Dodgers game after the second inning.
  12. No moral victories but I want to see competitive baseball, which we saw last night. For nearly two decades I watched the Twins be non-competitive in the postseason, I want to be able to actually enjoy the games I'm watching after so much suffering.
  13. And before y'all start feeling sorry for yourselves, at least you're not a Dodgers fan this morning. Yikes.
  14. A tough lefty on the mound today but the Twins have been pretty good against LHP over the past couple of months.
  15. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but a team can’t go 2-for-20 with RISP alongside scoring from a bunch of dingers.
  16. No matter how flawed it might be, ump scorecard is an attempt to create objective accountability, which is badly needed in the public sphere.
  17. RISP, as it often does, dictated this game. The Twins need to string together hits or this will be a short series.
  18. A loss but a decent game. They easily could have laid down and died but did not.
  19. That’s not over managing. Alvarez is just really ****ing good.
