  1. $75/mo for gigabit (lol, that's what they claim... more like 350-500mbps speeds) from CenturyLink. Moderately happy with them so far despite the speed discrepancy (still, I was paying $75/mo to Comcast before that for a 60mbps package so the overall upgrade is huge). I then subscribe to Netflix and Prime, rotating through BritBox, Hulu, AcornTV, and a few others as needed. All in all, I usually sit around $125/mo for all my entertainment, including a few movie rentals a month.
  2. That's my point. I'm not defending Klobuchar for being an ass to her aides. She shouldn't do that, full stop. But, just off the top of my head, I know Biden was a real ass to his staff. That outrage lasted all of 30 seconds before everyone forgot about it because we all love ol' Joe. I suspect staff mistreatment is all too common in Washington... so why are we focusing on Klobuchar so intently? I'm not absolving her of the responsibility to be a decent person but it's triggers the skeptic in me that it's such a Big Deal when she does it, yet we turn away when men do it.
  3. Easier contracts tend to get done more quickly. And the contracts for Kepler and Polanco are easier to negotiate than Berrios and Rosario. If they all started negotiations at the same time, I’d expect the “lesser” players to wrap up their deals first.
  4. YAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSS THEY EVEN FRONT-LOADED A BIT! My grumpiness over the offseason is decreasing exponentially. Keep it coming, boys. Don't stop at Polanco and Kepler.
  5. Actually, that's not terribly funny to me because loads of those friends are transgender, inter-gender, non-gender, or whatever they may call themselves (not an insult to call them that, merely confusion on my part, I always try to do my best about what a person likes to be called). If someone wants to be called he, her, him, hers, them, their, kaleidoscope, whatever. I respect people. If a person wants to be called something, do you know what it takes for me to remember that? VIRTUALLY NOTHING. Sure, sometimes, I get it wrong and the person corrects me. I apologize and then *nothing happens*. Amazing how not being an ******* to a person gets you so far in life.
  6. I didn't both-side-ism, I used the word "nearly" to differentiate. One is clearly worse than the other. And you know that, Pseudo. I don't come within a country mile of thinking one side is close to as bad as the other.
  7. The weird thing is that my actual super liberal friends - who are much more liberal than myself - are so much more tolerable, despite their cries for completely random **** like basic income (something I don't necessarily disagree with) or removal of gender from society (maybe not so much...). They have some pretty out there ideas but can articulate them well enough to make it an interesting discussion. But do you know what they actually have? Awareness. Of themselves, of society, of the world. I can disagree with them over finances or gender studies or whatever... and they listen and rebut, knowing that I may not agree with them but we can all walk away understanding each other a little bit better. It's good to remove myself from that liberal bubble, if only to realize that something much worse exists outside and still calls itself "liberal". That world appears to be rife with conflict, hatred, and cannibalism. Oh, and it's still super racist and gender-specific, just for funsies.
  8. No, but you can ignore it and fight back. Point out that it's an unfair comparison because Joe Biden - white liberal savior - also had the same accusations. Or do a bit of research and find that John McCain was also a son of a bitch to his aides. Fight back. Don't just shrug and say "okay, she's kind of a bitch" when the point is that no one else cared when men were bitches. Say something, for Christ's sake.
  9. Okay, so I stepped out of my liberal bubble a bit and accepted a few random "liberal" friends on Facebook, many of them interlinked. Holy ****, I'm starting to see a much larger problem here. My liberal friends are so much more honest with themselves than most liberals I met over the past several hours. I'm kinda swinging back to Levi's side here. I've just witnessed rampant defense of Warren's "native americanism" while condemning Klobuchar's "awful treatment of aides" while also seeing Harris' "tough on crime was necessary". It just... It makes my brain hurt. So much. I was so safely in my liberal bubble of niceness that I forgot liberals are nearly as ****ing awful as conservatives, they just wrap it in pretty paper.
  10. Okay, we keep condensing this. I present: THUD
  11. Not the point. You don't even HEAR about men behaving badly unless their peckers are flapping around. That's the actual point here.
  12. Sure, I can let it go but it seems strange to play up Ryan's last tenure when I just laid out some pretty brutal ugliness of seriously high draft picks. If you have a rebuttal, I'm open to hearing it.
  13. Did he, though? Look at those top six draft picks he had: Buxton (okay, maybe something there but underwhelming considering the hype), Kohl Stewart (ooh, maybe not so hot), Nick Gordon (looking less awesome by the day), and Tyler Jay (sigh). He had four years of top picks and not a single one of them has turned into even an every day regular. The Twins' farm system should be better than it is right now, as should the MLB team. That's on Ryan. I gave him every benefit of the doubt but very little he did in his second tenure turned out (we have Berrios and then little worth mentioning after that).
  14. It's possible Falvine never reach Ryan's success. But you already admitted Ryan could no longer reach his former level of success so it's a bit of a moot point, isn't it? At least there's room for improvement in one front office, not so much the other.
  15. Oh, I get that, but any journalist who considers themselves "liberal" (and likely left of Klobuchar) and writes that kind of article they NEVER write about a man deserves to be slapped until they acknowledge the wrong-headed and hypocritical nature of their mistake.
  16. Ew. No. I'm upset about this offseason but I still trust Falvine FAR more than I did Ryan over his last few seasons. I'm disappointed with this offseason but I'm also unsure enough about it that I admit I could be wrong. Going into the last few winters of Ryan's tenure, I was confident in my opinions, most of which turned out to be right. He simply was not doing a good job running this franchise and I say that as a person who still respects the hell out of the man despite his failures the second time around.
  17. Beat me to it. Lots of guys in the Senate are giant, colossal asshats. Yet I don't see the HuffPost going out of their way to beat them down and the HuffPost is generally LIBERAL. Come on, liberals, get your **** together. Criticism is fine and welcome but this is pretty clearly digging into gender territory. A man is tough when he screams at his interns. A woman is just so... mean... when she does it. Stop it, women! Don't be so MEAN!
  18. I can't get over the name. It bugs the **** out of me. Call it the Green Deal.
  19. I'm pretty bent about the offseason but this statement is a stretch. The Twins lost little but gained Pineda. They also signed... other stuff... that I'm not eager to talk about right now.
  20. It does adjust but I lived in SoCal for 17 years and often visited Minnesota during the winter. I knew what I was getting into every time, even if it stung a bit more after my body was away from it for a spell.
  21. Accept? Sure. But personally, I’m not in love with the idea of risking that amount of money on a single player. But it’s not as if I’d complain if they signed Manny.
  22. Hah, fair enough. I hear that crap so often and it's borrrrrrring. Yeah, it's cold here. We know.
  23. Cool. I’m a big fan of content providers also owning the content. That has worked really well for American audiences over the past 20 years.
  24. Dude, you lived here forever. Stop your west coast whining; it's not as if you've never saw a cold front in your life. Don't be one of those nouveau west coasters where you CAN'T EVEN IMAGINE people living in this cold weather. You lived here, you know what it's like. Own it. You left, cool, but don't pretend like it's some revelation that it suddenly got cold after you left. I lived in SoCal for 20-****ing-years yet I never forgot, nor diminished, Minnesota's harshness. (I'm saying this here so I don't call you the **** out for being such a bitch on facebook)
