  1. I’m not much of a baker but I’m a pretty decent cook. And I recently discovered the magic of Kerrygold butter. I will not go back to generic American butter (though there are plenty of fancy American butters that rate well). Yes, it’s that big of a difference. I made buffalo sauce last night and it was super creamy and extra delicious thanks to the butter.
  2. I didn’t really want Bumgarner but seeing another pitcher go off the market (and for that price, to boot) is a real kick in the junk.
  3. I want a pitcher but given the market, I'd float something like a 2/$60m contract to Donaldson and see if he bites. Overpay for shorter years, see if he's interested. Players often overestimate their ability to not age (though obviously, their agents steer the other direction) so go that angle and see what happens.
  4. Interesssssting. Okay, I can't really deal with that right now but loop back with me in a few days and I'll try to figure it out. That's a really weird issue that I can't identify off the top of my head.
  5. Try this link, let me know if it doesn't work. http://twinsdaily.com/index.php?app=core&module=usercp&tab=core&area=notifications
  6. Odorizzi and Pineda are just fine second and third moves. Now go make a real move for someone at or above Berrios’ level.
  7. Woof. You'd rather offer Ryu one less year for the same money than Wheeler? No thanks. I like Ryu, I think he could be a good get for 2/$35m but the dude is old and he isn't the type of pitcher who will age well because guys who are throwing 91mph have no margin for aging.
  8. They could, but ESPN's business model is crashing like a rock. They're desperately clinging to whatever cable revenue they can hold on to because no one cares about them anymore (they used to be the highest-revenue cable channel, dunno if they are now). A smart business would have pivoted years ago. ESPN is not a smart business. But that's funny because they're owned by a VERY smart business. I've never really figured out why ESPN never gets it together.
  9. I own an Xbox One (because Elite Controller is literally the best controller ever made), a Switch (which I use the most, actually), and now an Oculus Quest. If I had more free time, I'd play the Xbox a lot more because I like fast-paced twitch-style gaming. The Switch is worth it for the first party Nintendo titles, which are always stellar. The Oculus Quest is an experience you won't touch with any other non-VR product. Google Stadia is getting butchered by reviewers upon release. I have zero interest in it at this point.
  10. Force Unleashed was also a SW game back in the day so it's not hard to confuse the two.
  11. I'm also playing Fallen Order. The first few hours were pretty disappointing but slowly over time, the game improved enough where I'm actually enjoying it now. I'm on the fourth planet, I think?
  12. I used to game A LOT (like, literally, I wrote for pretty big gaming sites before I did... all of this). While I still dabble in gaming (I play maybe 4-5 games a year now), my wife just bought me an Oculus Quest. I've played VR before, several of my friends own systems. But... Moss. Holy hell, never before have I seen something that so just... enraptured me. Being able to both control a character and play a god-like role to help the character is just so perfect. It's so good! So, let's talk about gaming and anything you're into right now.
  13. See, I don't even believe that to be true. Given what I've read of his illness, I think a team could get maybe 80-100 good innings out of Kyle before he ultimately deteriorates and turns bad again. Endurance seems to be a real problem with this sickness. In a vacuum, 80-100 good innings is something you want every year! The problem is that it's hard to spot when decline starts, it's even harder to stop it before negative value is given, and then you have to find a replacement for the rest of those innings. In the end, a team can be left with neutral (or close) value because the value of bad innings can overtake good innings pretty quickly in starting pitching. I just don't see this working out well. And that's unfortunate because I only wish the best for Gibson.
  14. If healthy, that’s a great price for Kyle. Thing is, he’s not healthy and his condition appears to be quite hard to manage.
  15. I’m super happy for Kyle but giving a person in his situation $30m is utter insanity.
  16. *hissssssssssss*
  17. The "M" logo is horrible because the "TC" is so iconic and just... perfect from a design standpoint. It's just lovely. The gold trim around the "TC"? That is a ****ing design abomination and should be eliminated from the world. It pollutes a perfect design. Stroking text is a bad idea 99.9% of the time.
  18. Pull-over baby blues: Button-up baby blues:
  19. You're right that temperance is needed but you're holding a status quo point that is really dangerous. Show me a credible source that has found out a significant number of violence against women reports have been falsely accused. Literally every study I've ever seen from a credible source (you know, the kind that do research) shows the number to be shockingly low, even moreso when you add on the number of cases never reported in the first place. Don't be the guy who uses the "danger" of the 2% to discount the 98% who legitimately need help.
  20. I find both this subject and the thread terribly disappointing. I expect better of Twins Daily.
  21. It's such outstanding work. And that's why John Williams lifted so heavily from it to create Star Wars. I mean, Mars. So good.
  22. Excellent points and you beat me to a lot of them. As for the bolded, I'm like 95% sure ballplayers pay the local state's tax rate during road games (ie. if you play one game in Chicago, that game's earnings pay the Illinois tax rate).
  23. Ah, yes, then I agree. Sano’s offensive potential is enormous.
  24. I kept your entire post intact because I think your point has merit, but... the bolded? Nelson Cruz says hi. Jorge Polanco says hi. Mitch Garver says hi. These are all players who were effing METAL in clutch situations; the problem is that many of them limped into the postseason and we haven't seen the best of them in the times that matter most.
