  1. Blue will be introduced in time but some of the key features that I expect to use blue more prominently weren't part of the launch goal.
  2. Someone let me know about it ~30 minutes ago. I changed some group settings this morning, which sent the article permissions into panic mode for whatever reason. It should be fixed now.
  3. The orange is for announcements and we have several color options available to us. You see a lot of orange right now because I'm trying to draw attention to key components of the new site to ease the transition for some of the more confusing aspects for long-time users. Once launch dies down, expect to see orange banners rather infrequently. (you may have noticed one of them is already gone)
  4. By the way, please let me know how speed is for you today. This is the first day of "regular" traffic on the site and for all of yesterday, the server was using a small amount of resources to run background tasks like reindexing the search engine. Speed should be good under normal circumstances but I'd like to hear of any difficulties you're having.
  5. Thankfully, our tools are much more robust now and while spam will never go away entirely (spammers even slip through the filters of Facebook on a regular basis), it has already decreased considerably and I'm implementing more filters and ways to thwart them as we determine the new software's leakiest bits.
  6. Excited to see the site gets its first regular load test during tonight's game...

  7. Because, after changing forum platforms four times over 15 years and getting the same questions every time, I finally learned my lesson and got out in front of those questions by writing guides how to use the ridiculous number of features included in the software package. If you actually read any of the tutorials, you'll notice they primarily talk about underlying site features and assume you know how to do things like... type a message.
  8. The new system has a "follow" feature, which makes more sense when you examine it. It's like a Twitter follow and you can set notifications when people you follow post, you can filter to people you follow in the activity stream from the menu, etc. Lots of stuff you can do in the new system that makes following a much more sensical approach.
  9. Well, you just alerted me that I'm not receiving notifications from our ticketing system correctly. For the time being, PM me a detailed description of your issue and I'll look at it while I troubleshoot the ticketing system.
  10. If this happens, screenshot it and send it to brock.beauchamp@twinsdaily.com. I know that aspect is still a little buggy but everyone experiences ads a little differently and I can only fix what I see.
  11. Here's a dated meme for your wall, Parker.

I’m old so I understand this reference. Thank you.

  12. By the way, for those of you that haven't read the tutorials, two cool new things available. @Mike Sixel Hi, I tagged you! And hit the GIF button in the top of the text editor, you have an immediately searchable GIPHY library!
  13. A dark mode is on the table but it's going to be awhile. I need to check options available; if there's an option that doesn't involve me writing an entirely separate theme and maintaining it, that option will be available much sooner than if I have to maintain two sets of code.
  14. If you scroll down 800-ish pixels on any page, this red circle will appear on the bottom left of your screen: I added that to the site explicitly for that reason. It's a scroll to top button that takes you back to the top of the page without scrolling.
  15. Annnnnddd we're live!

      operation mindcrime

This is too much for me! Go back to the old version! ?

  16. “Use the code “FIGHT ME, BUSTER OLNEY” to take advantage of this special offer.” Literal LOL.
  17. Signing relievers is *very* hard and money isn’t necessarily the cure for risk. Look at Craig Kimbrel, as low risk a signing as you can get from a performance standpoint. He’s been good this season but has largely been a dumpster fire since being signed for significant money. Even Hendricks has only been “fine” for the White Sox this season, pitching to a 4.6 FIP. I’m sure he’ll be good again but already has a few blown saves and the White Sox aren’t paying him to be “fine”.
  18. We could go a couple of weeks without another homer but since his callup, Kirilloff has been crushing the ball. His first week+ was wildly unlucky. If he keeps doing what he's doing, he may not hit homers but he'll be racking up doubles and hard-hit singles. As for walks, I don't expect a lot of discipline to start off, maybe even for the entire season. But he's not an undisciplined hitter and has good contact ability so those numbers should trend slightly in a more positive direction.
  19. I'm so excited to catch a Saints game this year.
  20. That side-by-side video is amazing. It's as if you put Buxton in photoshop and image sized him to 120%.
  21. While I haven’t been a fan of Baldelli this season, he should be fired if he’s making decision based on six combined PAs by two players, especially if those six PAs weren’t exactly jaw-dropping.
  22. Woof, if I passed on the Phillies job as Levine did, I don’t think I’d trip over myself in a rush to accept the Rockies job. That franchise is a mess and it’s partially ownership’s fault.
  23. Oh, for sure, I was mostly rebutting the use of batting average as an offensive indicator, particularly for a weirdo like Astudillo.
