<Brian's 'Things to Think About' here; tba, check back later>

Thank You ChiTown

Things to think about:

1. Chance of Rain -- With the possibility of a washout... I wonder if there is any reason to go outside. Is there any reason to think about things to think about at all? Too late I'm already thinking.

2. The final game of Spring Training -- This is it... They are all trained... The Dolphin can jump through the hoops and slide out of the water on its belly and make little dolphin chirping sounds for a fish. The Technical parts of playing baseball have been ironed out. They now how to position for a cut in all situations. They've seen fastballs and breaking pitches. Timing has been timed and locations have been located. Starting Monday... Welcome to the Show!!!

3. Possums -- When a Possum is threatened. It will fake death and even mimic the smell of a death. It lays still, mouth open and saliva will foam while it secretes a death smelling odor. They are pretty good at it and predators become disinterested and leave it alone. This has been Josh Willingham strategy throughout spring training and 2013. Possums usually come out of it within 4 hours. Josh must have missed that part.

4. Boston -- We are playing Boston again... Getting in the car driving to Dunedin is hard on everyone involved.

5. Rain -- Water on the ground evaporates into the sky. After that... a bunch of stuff happens that the weather broadcasters on television have a hard time grasping. Eventually... The water returns to earth in the form of rain.

Arizona doesn't have any water so they don't get any rain. Florida has a bunch of water so they get rain. Spring training Homes for the Major League Clubs have been trending toward Arizona because they have less rain cancelations.

Once they realize that Chief is nearby... They will move back to Florida.

Yup, the hydrologic cycle. Looks like it might rain Monday in Chicago, too.

Damn! Wish I had TV of this ... sounded like a good catch by Hicks.

Well, Parker thought it was and he a little less into hype than the TV/radio guys.

Aaron Hicks just made a terrific play on a Dustin Pedroia deep smash to the triangle of center field. Defense is certainly coming together.

At least I think this is still Parker?

JB ... you and I have a similar baseball background ... a girl growing up in the 60s wasn't encouraged to play baseball. But I did play softball ... summer rec stuff, because other than swimming at the local Y, that was about it for organized sports for girls. The one time I played with the neighborhood boys ... I hit the ball over the neighbor's garage ... and that was it. Heh ... like beating the boys at euchre during study hall in high school ... played with them once, beat them soundly, and was the last time I was asked to play. Boys and their weak egos. ;)

I'm not dead yet - said Josh Willingham as he rounds the bases for his first hit and homerun in a millennium.

Almost as good; Arcia taking a walk.

It was amazing how quickly Title IX changed things for girls in athletics.

The funny thing was that my school district was made up of 2 small towns. The smaller one always had girls basketball but the larger one didn't. When the two towns merged in 1959, girls basketball was eliminated. And other sports opportunities for girls were more limited. It took until Title IX to get back girls basketball in my high school and by then I was a senior. But we did have softball and track before that but I'll admit, I'm a lousy athlete.

And yes, the boys never gave us any advantages.

Strong winds today, so maybe more long balls. The rain just might hold out though.

3 transport trucks are loading with only one more vehicle to get on board and they can head to Mpls. 7 vehicles to a rig. Long gone are the days of Escalades and Hummers for this crew.

I'm stuck at the Atlanta airport, waiting on a flight to Baltimore. This guy I met on the internet sold me tickets to the Twins season opener against the Orioles tomorrow! He sold me the tix CHEAP! I had no idea Baltimore was still I sing hand written tickets!

ChiTown, our forecast for tomorrow is 67 degrees, clear & sunny, wind at about 13. About as nice as could be wished for this time of year.

I'll try to blow hard so that it reaches you by Monday.

Yeah ... still not sure I'll go to the game ... it's high premium pricing ... but if I can get a single seat in left field, if the sun is out, shouldn't be too bad.

We need to send in Delilah to cut Napoli's beard.

I think that beard is one of the ugliest things I've seen in a long time. There were other ugly ones on that team but I do believe his was an ugly prize winner.

It started raining here now, so hurry up and get 5 in the books. Hate to see a Hammer dinger wiped out.

It was wiped out by Napoli in the bottom of the 2nd.

As long as he can remember to duplicate it regularly, its okay.

At least the kids can put up some runs. Walker is going to be a bright spot for Twins fans.

Really looking to see more of him and Vargas.
