Another terrific Berardino article discusses how Paul Molitor can relate to Miguel Sano. Molitor was the first position player to have Tommy John surgery, 30 years ago...

 

Since then, many have, including Carl Crawford and Shin-Soo Choo.

This actually is a bit concerning:

He is likely to have the surgery sometime in the next month; a date hadn’t been determined as of Saturday morning.

 

I just hope that they do not wait until April to do it. Give the kid a week break and do it...

I guess I don't know, but if there's any swelling, they'll need to wait a little bit. I'm sure they won't put it off too long.

I'm glad he's going to get a chance to go back to the DR and see his Mom. A little mental break before the grind of rehab sounds like a good thing to me.

Can we stop with the amateur doctoring going around these parts? His 2014 season is done, not sure what a few weeks makes a difference at this point as it is an 8 month rehab at most anyways.
