Pitz Verified Member Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 The return of Alex Meyer! Got the start today for GCL - 1.2 IP 1 ER 3 Hits 1 BB 5 K's. He was replaced in the second with the bases loaded. Penilla walked in a run before getting the third out. Not the best line, but nice to see him back in action.
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Well considering all the outs he made were Ks, I'd say that's pretty good.
TRex Provisional Member Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Well considering all the outs he made were Ks, I'd say that's pretty good. I agree, facing 9 batters and striking out 5 (4 swinging) in your first start back from a two-month stint on the DL (likely meaning he was only allowed to throw fastballs) is pretty good, even considering the competition!
Pitz Verified Member Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Kohl Stewart also back in action2 IP - a walk and 2 strikeouts.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Haven't really followed Miguel Gonzalez all that close, but this 18 year old has struck out 22 in 17.1 innings of work (including the side last night) with only 8 walks to go with it in the GCL. He might be another guy to start watching a bit closer.
Billy Amick Wichita Wind Surge - AA 1B/3B Despite hitting just .194, the 23-year-old ranks fourth in the Texas League in Home Runs (17) and sixth in RBI (50). Explore Billy Amick News >
