TK should stay on full time

Which is OK, since you have plenty of time. The kid on first base hasn't figured out he needs to stop picking his nose and run to second yet.

That, and the kid he would throw it to at second needs to quit firing his dirt catapult before he could catch the ball anyway.

TK doesnt know when to stop......just keeps on talking and talking.....and repeats what he just said. Small doses, i agree. Do NOT like to listen to Gladden. Why do they have to have him fill in for 3 innings in the middle of a game. Don't get it. No idea what is going on in the game when it happens...."Toes the rubber" "puts it away" time for some english lessons....

I, for one, am so sick of all the sensationalism that has gripped this country as well as the media's gleeful exploitation of it -- sports is just as guilty as politics (who ever thought I would loathe ESPN). Tom Kelly in the booth is a breath of fresh air. He delivers relevant and insightful observations in a matter-of-fact manner. For as much as organizations do these days to keep the interest of non-baseball fans, I am glad that there is something that hearkens back to an earlier day when fans really knew the game. That being said, it would be hard to imagine TK in the booth for 150 games per year. Living in NC, I rely on the MLB app to watch the games, and prior to a few years ago, you could not choose your broadcast. I got to listen to a lot of commentators from opposing teams, and Dick and Bert were WAY better than just about all of them for knowledge of the game and were among the least annoying.

I hate this. Hate it.

Provus is too good for them to continue giving pbp time to Gladden, he's putrid.

They could never go to a 3 man crew with Dick as the play by play guy. Dick leaves very little room for substantial color commentary. He has this OCD bit where he needs to narrate every little thing that happens. Someone needs to tell him that he's not on the radio (we can SEE what's happening) and he doesn't need to jump in on every one of Bert's (rare) halfway interesting stories in order to interject a bases empty "strike two to Cabrera" call. If he ever actually neglected to call a bases empty flyout ("Swisher camps underneath it, two away") while Bert and TK ramble on about how "Bruno was underrated with the glove," he'd probably develop a heinous facial tick.

Listening to TK tonight, I've found what I do like about his commentary - I'd call it the TK litmus test. When he says something negative, and unlike most talking heads he will, you get something to file away for future reference.

I think he is an acquired taste that grows on you. I've bashed him in the past, but like him *more and more.

Today he said the game was about pitching and defense and we've been doing that pretty good...

Defense, yes, and pitching lately, could be worse. The offense is the suckage.

Regardless, I'm not saying he's perfect, and i still like Bert and especially Coomer better, but TK has gone from snooze to worth listening IMO.

Then again, I don't watch a game from start to finish very often. An evening with TK ain't bad.

Worst starting pitching in the game...last in majors in defensive efficiency.

Maybe he was just talking recently...doing the extremely SSS.

I'm thinking that little streak sandwiching the All-Star break, that's valid.

Our bullpen does kick ass, and that is part of the pitching equation. Defense has been good.

What are we talking about
