Article: Twins Minor League Starting Pitcher of the Month - June

I saw Lee's bad start in person. He would throw a very good pitch or two and then throw a meatball "right there", no consistency whatsoever. Seemingly that was the only time he experienced that phenomenon.

It looks like Albers will get a chance sometime this year if he continues to pitch well, especially if Gibson is shut down by Labor Day. I don't think you can have too many lefties, but it would help if their styles are a bit different. I mean Diamond and Albers are both Canadian!

Albers should be called up at the next open opportunity. If Diamond falters two starts in a row, Albers should be up. If Pelfrey falters two starts in a row, he should be up. I think the only guys with relatively long leashes right now are Gibson, Correia, and Deduno. Otherwise, Albers deserves a shot, and soon!

Where's Trevor May? His June stats are as follows

5 GS, 2-3, 3.23 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, 30.2 IP, 25 H, 8 BB, 34 K

Out of this group he is 1st in K/9, 1st in K/BB, 2nd in WHIP, 3rd in ERA, 3rd in BB/9 and 4th in IP/GS.

Good to see him finally having success in AA.

Thanks for the message. It was clearly a miss on my part. As I recall when I was researching the June numbers, I saw him have like 12 strikeouts and an ERA closer to 4. Maybe I was looking at the wrong player or something?!? May should be in the top 3 probably.

Brett Lee is my "adopt a prospect"--I knew his last 3 starts were probably his 3 best of the year--and probably off of that will stay in the rotation for a while--he only got 1 win in those starts--wrong end of one pitchers duel--Kernels needing a walk-off wild pitch in the most recent...yes his start before that was atrocious...but still surprised he made the list...but happy...I agree with Boone that May belongs in the list too...but when I look at the numbers even with the atrocious start...Brett has pretty much the same WHIP and K/9 ratio as May...

Seth do you think Brett's future is in the pen--the Duensing role??

Sorry for delay...still traveling...
