I was at the game today and have a couple of questions......

What were the multicolored random circles of grass throughout the outfield?   Some were darker and some lighter.  Were they patched areas for torn turf or other damage?

When did they change the "Family-Friendly" value concession stands to a more grab and go service?   When I was at an April game, I chose what I wanted to buy and entered it on the kiosk and paid with my credit card.  I then got a ticket number and waited for the staff to hand me my food and beverage.  Today, I noticed the food and drinks were in bulk bins so I walked through and grabbed what I wanted FIRST and then paid for it on the kiosk.   I'm assuming they went to this style as it doesn't require as much staff to run, right?    The one drawback I see to this is that a person could simply grab food and walk out without paying.  It didn't appear as if the staff was paying close attention to the kiosks to monitor if people were paying, or if they were paying for exactly what they grabbed.

The circles in the turf coincide with the concerts at Target Field nowadays. They crop up the game after said concert and go away in a couple games. I believe you are correct that they are turf patches, but not certain.

I noticed the grab and go style of option in May. Agreed with the risk
