Remember last year when Royce Lewis joined the team and essentially said regarding the hitting coaching: Screw this, I’m gonna hit the ball instead of doing what they want.

This team really needs his attitude and ability.

Completely agree, never understood why they didn't fire him, since we set the record for strike outs.

Ha go figure, Clase was the only Guardian not to strike out a batter. Looooooser!!!!

We had no chance of touching clase

or class B for that matter

If it will make you feel any better, Arraez is only batting .188 with 6 Ks.

Same Twins. I have seen a lot of puff pieces on here and I will be curious when this continues to happen will it be the same ? How long do we simply settle for mediocre?

It IS still early in the season, but if this continues, I dread what the Dodgers games will look like.

It seems like we always have to play them early in the season when nobody is hitting

Buxton has been one of this team's best hitters this year. Bad day today, but his strikeout rate was 19% before today. Funny how everyone else gets criticized for NOT swinging at enough pitches and Buxton here is getting criticized for taking cuts. Overreaction. There are other players to lay this load on.

Buxton doesnt hit with RISP and doesnt advance runners. That is this year and every year. This isnt a new issue. Dont try and mask it.

He struck out with after a AK triple yesterday too.

Its a massively issue. If you want to bat 3rd. You have to have plate discipline. He doesnt have it. That is a fact. He doesnt walk and he strikes out a lot.

I’ll say it again, buxtons batting average is .142 now with runners in scoring position over the past 2 years.
the only RBIs he gets are from solo shots. He turns into the most undisciplined and dumb hitter in the league when guys are in scoring position

Stayed away from the thread today because I was too much of a negative nelly on Wednesday. But, woof. I cannot stand this team's approach at the plate. All the Twins had to do today was make contact and they probably win the game.

Silver lining - bullpen looks good and Rocco's not afraid to use guys for more than an inning at a time.

Dark cloud - Rocco's PH strategy when a LH reliever comes in

Kirilloff batted 2nd.

He's off to a great start, but I still consider Correa to be the team's best player and hitter (when healthy) at least until Lewis gets back.
