With the lack of strikeouts yet still being effective I was reminded of another left-handed pitcher at the end of his career who came to the Twins and pitched 2 seasons with 182 innings and 78 strikeouts.  He also had a 4.89 ERA overall and 4.27 ERA out of the pen his second season with the Twins in the steroid era as a back of bullpen arm  his production was worthy of 6th starter and 6th man in the pen (bullpens didn't have a 7th or 8th pitcher in them back then.  The Twins would carry 11 pitchers back then.  Terry Mullholland was in his age 41 and 42 seasons with the Twins and had several successful seasons as a starter for the Phillies.  Including a 16-win season and All Star in another.

On another note, you can see the before and after steroid effects on Mullholland's numbers.  before 94 when the steroid era began, Mullholland gave up between .6 and .7 Home runs per nine innings and it doubled after that.

Dallas Keuchel is this generation's version of Terry Mullholland.
