Yeah, I'm generally happy to see ex-Twins do well (but not against us). This a pretty impressive start for them. Hopefully Hunter takes a few days off from his hot streak.

Hardy would be giving us a bit more punch than Escobar, Carroll and Florimon. Not sure how he evens out with Plouffe on his right. For $35 million, we could've kept a pretty good outfield. Garrett Jones might've been a better investment than Parmelee. Amazed as the continued consistency of A.J. And if he stayed, would Ortiz have become Mr. Minnsota Twin (shades of Willie Stargell).

The only player on that list that really bothers me is Hardy. I think the rest of the moves were either defensible or made sense at the time. The Ortiz move is the all time what if, but Boston signed him for about half of what the Twins would have owed him in arby. The Twins judged the market correctly, just didn't properly predict he would explode into a borderline HOFer.

I'm not getting upset over letting Garrett Jones leave, but happy that he found some success. AJ and Gomez trades were fine.

They let Hardy go because they thought they had this wonder at short named Nishioka, correct? That's how I recall it, anyway. Oops. I'm not as big a fan of Hardy as many on the board, but he's certainly a good major league shortstop and we could have used one of those the last few years.

In unrelated news I watched The Real Deal record the final out of a game on TV last night. This was in Taiwan's 4 team pro league but we have Manny.

Wasnt it 980,000?

My recollection was some number around a million dollars. That's all I got.

I thought arby would have been about $2.5-3 mil and he signed with Boston for $1.25.
