Cubs sued over allegations that renovations at Wrigley do not meet ADA standards

I don't know the whole story, but it appears that in the renovation, the wheelchair accessible seats were moved into locations with sightline issues. It's more involved than that, so I'm not making light of this, at all. But, the claim is that Wrigley, post-renovations, is less accessible than before, and does not meet ADA standards.

That is a disappointing and self-defeating read.

According to the CDC 26% of Americans have a disability and approximately 14% of Americans have a mobility disability, this is a huge and growing market segment, one that everyone can join (and probably will over a long enough time horizon) and some can leave.

its in their own best self interest, and still to provide a measurably worse experience in the increased number of accessible seats is frustrating and sad.

I’m sure some kind of ‘cost analysis’ was done and maybe they felt those seats weren’t utilized enough to provide for them in their renovations, but I think that was really short sighted and just plain wrong, and then likely made sure to provide the number of seats required without any thought to visibility and in-game experience. In other words, ‘we’ll put all these in the ‘cheap seat’ area.
