Mill1634 Verified Member Posted July 12, 2022 Posted July 12, 2022 The Pitchers RHP Jason Alexander (2-1, 4.75 ERA, 17K, 36IP, -0.3 bWAR) vs RHP Josh Winder (4-2, 3.12 ERA, 27K, 40.1IP, 0.7 bWAR) The Twins will avoid the two headed monster at the top of the Brewer's rotation in Brandon Woodruff and Corbin Burnes, and instead will be lined up with Jason Alexander in game one, making his 7th start of the season. Despite the below average surface numbers, Alexander has pretty good below the surface numbers. Alexander started against the Cubs last time out, going 5.1IP, allowing 7 runs, 6 earned, on 8 hits while allowing a home run, and walking and striking out 2. This was his first start back in the rotation, but he did throw 94 pitches. He throws a mid 90's fastball, a slower slider, a great sinker, and an above average changeup to left handed hitters. Winder will look to keep things going and provide some length against a good Brewers lineup. Lineups Twins DH Luis Arraez L SS C. Correa R CF Byron Buxton R RF Max Kepler L 2B J. Polanco S 1B A. sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 12, 2022 Posted July 12, 2022 The batting order goes 2 by 2, hurrah, hurrah. Weird how the handedness of batters seems to come in pairs.... So used to more alternating due to making it difficult to play relief pitcher match up poker..
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 12, 2022 Posted July 12, 2022 You know how we had Mauer and Morneau as the M&M boys? Am i allowed to dub Alex and Max as the K boys? Or would it have to be the K&K boys? Or might that be taken amiss?
RickOShea Verified Member Posted July 12, 2022 Posted July 12, 2022 20% chance of showers? Roof stuck? 9 mph winds? Are they opening all the windows? Let's get real.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 12, 2022 Posted July 12, 2022 Two teams with similar records. The Twins will miss Milwaukee’s top starters and they are at home. One win would be mildly disappointing and losing both would be a real lost opportunity.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 12, 2022 Posted July 12, 2022 Wait, this is a home game. Clever, tricking me by defying convention, and listing the home line up first...
Mortimerkenny21 Verified Member Posted July 12, 2022 Posted July 12, 2022 We'll see how Jason Alexander pitches tonight.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 12, 2022 Posted July 12, 2022 Ouch, the walk scores along with ‘Cutch. Too many pitches behind in the count.

CRF Verified Member Posted July 12, 2022 Posted July 12, 2022 Ok...let's get the runs back right away off of George Costanza.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 12, 2022 Posted July 12, 2022 That's a pretty disappointing 2-0 swing from Buxton.
rwilfong86 Verified Member Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 Is Buxton's not hitting into a double play streak still alive?

stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 Much better inning for Winder. No hard hit balls, he stayed ahead of the count and got the Brewers to hit his pitch.
MMMordabito Verified Member Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 Way to tighten it up, Winder. Go get him some runs, O.
