Tom Froemming Twins Daily Contributor Posted February 21, 2021 Posted February 21, 2021 Here are some quotes from Rocco Baldelli, Tony La Russa, Terry Francona, Mike Matheny and A.J. Hinch on their teams heading into the 2021 MLB season.
Thegrin Verified Member Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 Seems to me I heard the same sorts of thing last year... and a couple years ago too. Now that I think about it, managers were saying the same sorts of things 10 years ago, 20 years ago.....since before the turn of the century...in the 50's...
twinfan Verified Member Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 Everybody is 0-0 so (supposedly) every team has an equal chance. They aren't going to say their team stinks or will lose 100 games this year.
Channing1964 Verified Member Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 Good to know what they think of themselves. It's good they don't know what I think of them. I wonder how many times Tim Anderson will be on La Russa's carpet for all his ill advised antics. Mr Optimistic says the same thing every year and they haven')t won a title since the 1950s. Matheny, Hinch....sorry man. If the Twins can't win this division then it would be a collapse comparable to the 2018 fiasco.
Dodecahedron Twins Daily Jail Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 Baldelli had a very good response. He essentially said, talking about this is pointless. He said they have to do it on the field, and then he added that talking about it is not only pointless but may actually hurt them. Baldelli must be a longtime Vikings fan. Whenever the press begins to paint the VIkings as good, the embarrassing collapse is imminent.
