Jim Crikket Provisional Member Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Not sure if it's just me, John, but this cut out about 9 minutes in to the podcast.
mbents Verified Member Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 I noticed the same thing at first. It looks like it's fixed now (at least on iTunes).

Jim Crikket Provisional Member Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 I thought you guys did well with the St Peter interview. Typical media interviews of a guy in his position are almost always very high level. He's done enough interviews that he's never going to let anyone take him a direction he doesn't want to go, but I thought you got him to go in to a bit more depth on some issues.
Highabove Provisional Member Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 You guys got more out of St. Peter then anyone in the so called mainstream Media.
BrentMpls Provisional Member Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 I cringed a bit when The Geek kept talking over St. Peter. Fun episode still, TwinsFest is always a fun event!
Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 For those that listened to the entire podcast, I do want to provide a quick update. Despite many efforts, most strongly by Mr. Gleeman and Super Girlfriend Kate, the attempts at Operation #GetSethDrunk were unsuccessful. It's possible that #GotSethBuzzedABit may have happened, but no success.
Wookiee of the Year Verified Member Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 I agree with the comments that you did well with Mr. St. Peter and got some useful information out of him, but this was my favorite of example of St. Peter's Falling Back on Talking Points: On signing guys like Nishioka because they might increase revenue even if they're not the right player on the field: "That doesn't come into the decision-making with the Twins. It does with a lot of franchises in all sports. I've seen it, you see it time and time again. That hasn't happened here, and you know, sometimes maybe fans might get frustrated with that, but we're trying to build this for the long term. The buck's gotta stop somewhere in a baseball organization, there's no doubt the buck stops with Terry Ryan." That has to be St. Peter's go-to This is How We Run Our Organization Speech, because no one is frustrated that the Twins put a good team before revenue-raising decisions in picking players.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 "Dollars and years." Straight from the horse's mouth. Yup, so, translated for those of you trying to generate conspiracies or excuse Ryan......we were not willing to pay the dollars and years to make them sign. We make "good baseball decisions" based on what they "believe they are worth". No more BS - it comes down to dollars and years. That's the bottom line. Nice line of questioning to get that very obvious, but unstated, bit of info out.
