Minnesota taxpayer stadiums

How many arenas, stadiums and fields did the taxpayers end up paying for in Minneapolis/St. Paul? What $ amounts?

 

I read Target Field was $350 million. About $500 million for the NFL stadium in which professional soccer can't be played. $288 million for the college football stadium paid by state and taxpayers. $110 million for Target Center several years ago. And $130 million for the Wild's stadium. And the soccer stadium final costs were around $250 million supposedly privately funded?

 

This pales compared to the now estimated up to $6 billion LA Rams stadium hopefully a boondoggle:)

Target Field cost $555 million with the Twins paying $205 million and Hennepin County paying $350 million. $0 from the state or city.

 

US Bank was $1 billion with the Vikings paying roughly half. The other $500 is split between the state and the city with the state's share coming from electronic pull-tabs and the city's from an existing tax that paid for the convention center.

 

The same city funds going to US Bank also paid to renovate Target Center. The Target Center was privately built originally, but the city did have to "bail it out" when they took it over. Is that the $110 million you reference? That seems high for the mid 1990's.

 

Xcel Energy Center was pretty much all public money. I believe the city of St. Paul paid most of it.
