Both Jorge Polanco (.339/.369/.710) and Eddie Rosario (.363/.379/.655) have a career OPS north of 1.000 at Progressive Field.
Tom Froemming Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 7, 2018 Author Posted August 7, 2018 Annnnd we have the roster move. As everyone expected, it involves Matt Belisle ... he's headed to the DL.

Belisle is no doubt suffering from washedupitus.

Belisle is no doubt suffering from washedupitus.I hadn't really paid attention to watching Belisle pitch until yesterday. What I noticed was good movement on the ball some of the time. No doubt that is what tantalized the brain trust into staying with him. If Belisle could figure out how to avoid the meatball pitches, he'd still be useful.

ashbury Verified Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Do vegans have meatball troubles?A small bit of googling reveals no more interesting vegan alternatives to meatballs than "meatless meatballs". I suspect those travel out of the park just as fast as the real McCoy..

In this case batters rarely are vegan, at least metaphorically.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Gameday says delayed....weather, or are the TWins' players still in mourning over their leader being on the DL?
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Rain delay fun facts: Last night Mitch Garver wasn't the only non-pitcher pitcher. Matt Davidson of the ChiSox pitched the 9th inning against the Yankees and it was only a 7-0 score. Davidson (who was throwing over 90 MPH at times) gave up one hit, one walk, no runs and he struck out Giancarlo Stanton on a 71.4 MPH "curveball".
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Flowers should be forbidden from baseball parks, especially on strings. If so, games wouldn't have lays and need to be delayed.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 In other news, i am late to another rehearsal due to public transportation... But i don't mind. I'm rereading Soul Music.

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 PSA, if you like fantasy books, and somehow have not read Glen Cook's Black company.....the first book is on sale for the Kindle right now.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 PSA, if you like fantasy books, and somehow have not read Glen Cook's Black company.....the first book is on sale for the Kindle right now.I do indeed. And is that an homage to Doyle's historical fiction?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 next year's Twins catcher disagrees I sit corrected...
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 I crouch down in the catchers position corrected...corrected
S. Verified Member Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 For anyone who has been paying attention during the delay - have they given any estimates on when they expect the game to start?
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 PSA, if you like fantasy books, and somehow have not read Glen Cook's Black company.....the first book is on sale for the Kindle right now.ok, so when I first saw this, my brain told me.. "Glen Beck's cook book" ...
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 ok, so when I first saw this, my brain told me.. "Glen Beck's cook book" ... hahahaha. to avoid issues, I won't continue down that train....but it conjures up some funny thoughts.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 Gameday says delayed....weather, or are the TWins' players still in mourning over their leader being on the DL?You could wring the sarcasm out of that one, Mike! If Cleveland is getting the same rain we had in Chicago, it's pretty heavy. But the satellite looks like there is a break in the clouds so maybe they will start soon.

S. Verified Member Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 Game started, for anyone else who changed the channel instead of sitting through the same weather delay crap for the 100th time.

S. Verified Member Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 Did we win yet?Well, Belisle isn't on the 25 man roster, so yes?
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 Morrison needs to hit a home run here. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 You don't see relief pitchers in the AL hit three run homers very often.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 You don't see relief pitchers in the AL hit three run homers very often.Even more rarely when they are not pitching?
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 I think the lineup could be highly improved if Molly swapped Morrison and Garver in the lineup. Or maybe Cave. I can't understand why the two rookies have to bat at the bottom of the order when they're the best bats outside Rosario and Polanco.
