sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 In honour of Father's day, i present: Stone Soup Game Thread Intro In my pop's declining years, the last grocery run he was willing to be part of was for sake of the joke of asking where they kept the stone soup. Which was in mind because we'd recently watched the episode off Jim Henson's the Storyteller that features it: A Story Short. This episode stems from coming to the best bit of a story and suddenly not remembering what comes next. Fortunately i don't have that problem... yet. Happy Father's day all! The juggler sees that these four gentlemen have an obstructed view, so he stands up on a nearby pedestal and calls out, “can you all see me now?”They reply:“Yes.”“Oui.”“Sí.”“Ja.” And that, folks, is my contributed ingredient to today's Father's Day Stone Soup: a dad joke.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 Complete the sweep. It’s what I want for Father’s Day. Oh, and a nice steak, medium rare, with baked potato and grilled asparagus. With a glass or four of good Chianti.

If that is a dad joke, may i enquire after the offspring? What are they like?

Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 OK boys, let's be ready to play from the start!
D. Hocking Verified Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 I want to wait a few more games before I judge how Joe is really feeling, but that Joe/Eddie at the top of the order might not be a bad thing.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 Do that every inning and we'll be in good position to win the game.
mrmpls Verified Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 Nice start Joe and esco, Boy does Dozier look lost at the plate
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 17, 2018 Author Posted June 17, 2018 Escobar doubles Mauer in. Yes is now the answer to the leading question.

An appropriate pappa's day movie even, if i recall.

mrmpls Verified Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 Garvered, Think the base coach sent him there ?
drock2190 Verified Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 Adrianza gets a F in baserunning. Dude gets out way too many times on the basepaths.
kydoty Verified Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 Someone check on Tom Kelly after that incredible brain fart by Garver.
mrmpls Verified Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 Not your best moment there Eddie, Reminded me of Delmon young

jun Verified Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 I am tired of seeing Garver make an out when running on the base. Don't be greedy if you don't have the speed.
D. Hocking Verified Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 Not your best moment there Eddie, Reminded me of Delmon young There really are not many times this can be taken as a compliment are there - at least defensively.
mickeymental Verified Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 ah, the artistry of jake the would-be painter.
jun Verified Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 Eds just keep improving and Dozier is just the opposite, our 'star' Dozier now has an OPS under .700
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 I don't want to be Negative Nancy, but after seeing both Adrianza and Garver have baserunning blunders on the same play and seeing Dozier fail in that RISP situation, I have the feeling we're going to lose this game. I think Cleveland's offense is going to come alive today, but we'll see if Odorizzi can hold them...
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 17, 2018 Author Posted June 17, 2018 Not your best moment there Eddie, Reminded me of Delmon youngI assume this has something to do with the score being tied, eh. Only spuratically checking on things. Soup could use a dash veterin seasoning, i assume?
Blake Verified Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 Someone check on Tom Kelly after that incredible brain fart by Garver. No, I'd prefer my ears remain intact, thank you very much!
mickeymental Verified Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 the ol' double-play setup. smart.
