In honour of Father's day, i present:

Stone Soup Game Thread Intro

In my pop's declining years, the last grocery run he was willing to be part of was for sake of the joke of asking where they kept the stone soup. Which was in mind because we'd recently watched the episode off Jim Henson's the Storyteller that features it: A Story Short.

This episode stems from coming to the best bit of a story and suddenly not remembering what comes next. Fortunately i don't have that problem... yet.

Happy Father's day all!

Stone Soup Line up:

A large pot.

Water.

A nice stone.

Prep:

adlib to involve the audience in creating and enjoying it all.

Serve generously.

An Englishman, a Frenchman, a Spaniard and a German on vacation all happen to be watching a busker do some juggling at the city market. The juggler sees that these four gentlemen have an obstructed view, so he stands up on a nearby pedestal and calls out, “can you all see me now?”

They reply:

“Yes.”

“Oui.”

“Sí.”

“Ja.”

And that, folks, is my contributed ingredient to today's Father's Day Stone Soup: a dad joke.

Complete the sweep.

It’s what I want for Father’s Day.

Oh, and a nice steak, medium rare, with baked potato and grilled asparagus. With a glass or four of good Chianti.

Stuffed pork chops, grilled veggies and popovers at Che Blake today.

If that is a dad joke, may i enquire after the offspring? What are they like?

A joke worthy (for lack of the right word) of Chief.

Keep your drink out of reach of infants or you'd have to take Chianti from a baby.

I want to wait a few more games before I judge how Joe is really feeling, but that Joe/Eddie at the top of the order might not be a bad thing.

Wasn't there movie called The return of the Joe/Eddie?

An appropriate pappa's day movie even, if i recall.

If not there should be, and for some reason I see a yellow lab or golden retriever involved. - would be very 1980's Disney.

I am tired of seeing Garver make an out when running on the base. Don't be greedy if you don't have the speed.

Not your best moment there Eddie, Reminded me of Delmon young

There really are not many times this can be taken as a compliment are there - at least defensively.

Eds just keep improving and Dozier is just the opposite, our 'star' Dozier now has an OPS under .700

I don't want to be Negative Nancy, but after seeing both Adrianza and Garver have baserunning blunders on the same play and seeing Dozier fail in that RISP situation, I have the feeling we're going to lose this game. I think Cleveland's offense is going to come alive today, but we'll see if Odorizzi can hold them...

I assume this has something to do with the score being tied, eh.

Only spuratically checking on things.

Soup could use a dash veterin seasoning, i assume?

Someone check on Tom Kelly after that incredible brain fart by Garver.

No, I'd prefer my ears remain intact, thank you very much!
