Speaking of the Big Ten baseball tournament, I couldn't help but notice that Wisconsin wasn't listed anywhere. I come to find out, courtesy of the modern wonder called the Internet, that the Badgers haven't had a baseball team since 1991???!!!

 

There's an effort to get them back on the field but the AD, our buddy Barry Alvarez, says it'd be just too expensive to restart the program.

 

I wonder how the other 13 schools do it?

They wimped out back then. They needed to either eliminate one men's sport or add one women's sport to be in compliance with Title IX. Rather than do the right thing they eliminated baseball. SAD!

Alvarez won't push for a baseball reset because the money would be drained directly from the football program, plus he'd have to add multiple women's sports to comply with Title IX.

I grew up in Northwest Minnesota a Gopher. Still am in almost all sports although I had to divorce them in Hockey after moving to Grand Forks. GO SIOUX FIGHTING HAWKS!!! 

 

Although I've always been a Gopher fan. Never liked the school colors on a football, basketball or hockey uniform. But, In Baseball for some reason... the colors look great.

I just saw the replay of Dozier's grounder and the play by Seager. I liked how Dozier acknowledged the good defensive play upon getting to first base. I like when one player can recognize a player from the opposing team.
