All we know about a player is how they perform....period

 

That's true, but I'm guessing you and I differ on how we measure performance, which is fine. As the old saying goes, "don't scout the stat line." It's usually a good reminder for all of us.

Not really.  You want to take age and experience into account.  That's why you'll always see college aged pitchers dominating the minors.  If you were around here a decade ago, you'd have heard of Anthony Slama, a minor league relief pitcher with eye popping stats that wasn't really a prospect.  He was left off the 40 man roster and open to rule V draft but not taken.  Nice stats but not a prospect.  And Slama is miles ahead of these two guys, IMHO.

Every guy that throws 100 doesn't make it to the big leagues, prospect rankings are usually determined by such things as velocity, not performance

 

I guess Berrios is a great example of what you say

Great minor league pitcher, not so good MLB pitcher
