A good fielder and solid base runner, Wickens is one in a long list of Utility role type guys in the Twins organization. If he is to eventually make the big leagues, he is going to have to do something to make himself stick out more than the others in the same mold around him. I don't see it and have never been a big Wickens guy but he keeps moving up the ladder so what do I know.

Stephen Wickens has only had 69 at bats so far this year with most of those as a third baseman. He did spend a week on the DL but it looks like he is also spending more than his share of time on the bench as well.

His bat has not looked very good. I don't know it's because of the inconsistent playing time, injury, or he's riding the pine because he's just not hitting at AAA. In any case, his Avg is 203, with a 657 OPS. He has struck out 31 times and has 9 walks.

Most time spent on the pine...no injury. if given a few games in a row would be more consistent. Needs playing time. Goes one week between games.  Also has 14 hits 3 HR and 2 doubles. Has 21 strikeouts!

Consensus is not given an opportunity at AAA. Had to be able to play the game to show well! Not a bat or a pinch run intermittently!

He barely played, hard to see someone's potential sitting them on the bench!
