SwainZag Community Moderator Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 If Plouffe hit where Dozier hits in the order, he'd have a lot less double plays.......it is largely a function of the fact he bats with guys on base, and he hits the ball hard (and he's slow). Dozier: (with less than 2 outs)PA w/ runner on 1st: 57PA w/runners on 1st and 2nd: 18PA w/runners on 1st and 3rd: 5PA w/ bases loaded: 9 Plouffe: (with less than 2 outs)PA w/ runner on 1st: 66PA w/runners on 1st and 2nd: 23PA w/runners on 1st and 3rd: 10PA w/ bases loaded: 13 So essentially Plouffe has been in a DP situation 23 more times and grounded into 19 more double plays than Dozier.
