Kirby_waved_at_me Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Torii won't want to get credit for that mentoring moment. "Do as I say, not as I do" comes to mind. That's about as exciting as a scoreless inning can get, so that's ... something.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 Exciting little bits amounts to nothing ... after 1, score tied at 0-0 ... CBU.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Hunter....providing leadership on how to hit......that was disappointing
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Looks like opportunity was squandered in that 1st inning.
clank2000 Provisional Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 See ... now Hunter's at bat is what you'd expect from a rookie wanting it too bad ... Is it my imagination, or does it seem like Hunter is trying to hit a 5-run HR every at bat?
John Kelsey Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 As impressive as Sano's plate discipline is, Rosario's is equally unimpressive. He's 5-27 this month and could be beginning a long slump.
Kirby_waved_at_me Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Hunter's just being aggressive - that can be a good thing.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Sounds like Miguel needs to be doing the mentoring for a while.
John Kelsey Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Bonnes is saying Hunter looks like he might be limping Anything being said about that in the broadcast?
Comrade Bork Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 "Watching" the game through MLB Gameday is a lesson in frustration.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Looking at this lineup and thinking, if you put Oswaldo Arcia in there at DH, you then move Rosario to bat second behind Dozier, where Rosario hits really well, and have Arcia bat right behind Sano. Crank up the pressure! That also lets Joe Mauer sit out a game, which is not a bad idea at this point in the season. Again Miguel Sano shows mature discipline at the plate, taking a walk instead of flailing at junk. I see a pattern developing here. Pitchers would rather walk Sano than give him a pitch to hit with 3 balls. I suspect that this pattern will continue for the next 18 years or so... Sano fields a 3-hop grounder, makes an easy play to end the inning! Hey rookie, you gonna keep that ball, too? Fielding percentage: 1.00!
Kirby_waved_at_me Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Sano passed the first test in the field, it seems...
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 Oooou boy ... near miss by Hicks ...
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Bonnes is saying Hunter looks like he might be limping Anything being said about that in the broadcast? He fouled a ball off his ankle in that AB and was in visible pain.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 And he ends up with a double ...
Kirby_waved_at_me Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 So, Jimenez is not terrible this year? That's something I hadn't noticed until now...I'm enjoying continuing to not notice this...
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 He fouled a ball off his ankle in that AB and was in visible pain.Didn't he foul two off ... one on the ankle, one on the foot?
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Anybody else notice that Aaron Hicks is swinging a man's bat lately? Line drive double! Damn, he crushed that ball like Dave Winfield! Put a dent in the outfield wall! And that's swinging leftie!
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 Okay Fryer ... make it look like this was a good call up ...
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Didn't he foul two off ... one on the ankle, one on the foot?Yeah, but I think it was the first one that got him pretty good. Rub some dirt on it.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Sano passed the first test in the field, it seems...fld pct 1.000!
Loosey Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Man, Hicks continues to impress as of late. Keep it up.
wxman91 Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 3 big Ks so far in run-scoring situations.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 2nd consecutive inning, runner at 2nd, nobody out, no score. poop x 2.
Kirby_waved_at_me Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I think the Twins can really wreak havoc if they can get the ball into the outfield today --- Steve Pearce and Chris Davis in the corners? I think I'd rather have Parmelee out there....
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Remember when the Twins drafted Levi Michael? They thought Michael would become exactly what Brian Dozier is today - a dominant player at 2nd or 3rd base. Beautiful pitch by Jimenez for strike three on the Doz. Hat tip.
SwainZag Community Moderator Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 anyone have a link to watch on This was posted on Reddit, but I haven't tested it. http://mytvlive.me/baltimore-orioles-vs-minnesota-twins-mlb-8th-july-2015/
Kirby_waved_at_me Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 That was his 50th pitch so far today, hopefully he hasn't got the hang of it yet.

It was a really nice pitch. Dozier knew it immediately.
