Uhh, because they actually, and publicly, said what the plan was for Meyer?

My reply to you is "great comment"... do you know what all I considered saying?

So ... about that Berrios guy, pretty sweet to see Law continue to move him up his ratings. #2 ceiling is nothing to sneeze at. Here's hoping he reaches that ceiling and then does some sort of crazy fitness work out breaking through it.

And while he's reaching his ceiling, hopefully he's kicking in all the doors still in his way...

Over the years there have become some ideas expressed too often that people think they are true and the "Twins don't promote" one is probably my least favorite. Berrios is 20 and in AA - the Twins moved him 3 levels last year and let him pitch in the WBC and have praised the ever loving **** out of that kid.  They freaking love Berrios.  Buxton, Sano, Stewart, Gordon, Walker, Kepler are just a few of the recent prospects who have played multiple levels in recent seasons.

FACT

Since when did i present conjecture as fact?  I couched every comment with proviso.

And I'm not looking for congratulations, just pointing out that I have not been alone on the TD forum and elsewhere that Terry Ryan's approach has gotten a lot of things wrong-  of course,  that's to be expected for such a tough job, but errors of omission can be more readily remedied by just being a bit more open-minded and less tight-fisted financially concerning promtions.

You've presented plenty of conjecture as fact, as Brock and I have pointed out on several occasions in this thread.  I don't have an issue criticizing the front office as you know, but I also think that we need to be real careful in thinking that we can (by a few stats) gage a person's readiness for the big leagues and discount the front office every step of the way.  There's a level of arrogance there.  I get that we like baseball, and that many people on this site are baseball savants in comparison to a lot of people.  But we don't live this 24 hours day/7days a week for many many many many years.  I think the front office just might have a few lessons learned along the way about promoting too soon, too late, and some of the characteristics that a player needs to be 'ready' for the next level, and not all of them has to do with K rate and ERA.  If it was that simple, Trevor May would have dominated last season.

We are sitting here rehashing the same old 'Twins are slow to promote' schtick IN A BERRIOS thread.  Given his age relative to the league, I cannot help but think of the irony here.

Are there any specific things that Berrios is working on to further his development? I've heard that plane/movement on his fastball may be an issue. Adding a couple of inches probably isn't in the cards, but is Berrios working on adding some movement/sink to his fastball?

Or is it more a matter of just getting the reps to refine his command and develop more feel for his change and curve?

Sorry if any of this is covered in the handbook or elsewhere. Just curious how Berrios is being challenged to develop as the overall results are certainly there to this point.
