2016 Roster

Hello all. New to the site but was wondering if I could get some of your opinions on this. Looking ahead to next year, it looks like there will be a lot of decisions to be made regarding who to keep and who to bring up from our ridiculous minor league system. This is my prediction for who we keep next year, along with some of the other potential prospects. Any feedback is appreciated. I know I'm getting a little ahead of myself, but some roster moves are going to have to be made very soon!

 

Position Players:

C - Pinto/Suzuki

1B - Mauer/Vargas

2B - Dozier/Polanco

SS - Santana

3B - Sano

OF/DH - Buxton/Rosario/Hicks/Brett-Walker/Kepler/Arcia

(notes: no more Plouffe, and keeping 6 OFs is probably not going to happen, but I want to keep them all right away until the top 5 emerge)

 

Starting Rotation:

Hughes

Santana

Berrios

Gibson

Hu

Pen: Meyer/Burdi/Graham/Rogers/Jones/Perkins

(notes: very righty-oriented. Honorable mention and close to making roster: Reed/Duffy/Melotakis. No more Nolasco. 2 years away from Stewart/Gonsalves/Jorge.)

I have my doubts about Pinto being on this roster next year.

 

I don't believe Hu will start in the rotation next year, but I could see him up in the fall or so (depending on everyone's health, of course).

 

I can't see them completely rebuilding the RP from inside. I would guess you'll see 1-2 FA types there.
