B1G Ten collegiate championships @ Target Field

If somehow you missed the news or are in live-game withdrawal, make sure you check out the B1g Ten championships going on today through Sunday at Target Field! The guys started rolling in yesterday morning and were greeted by the balmy 40 degree temps with wind, but it turned out to be a nice day and is forecasted to be a great weekend!

 

I'll be there pretty much all day every day (my job is so hard!) ... tickets are cheap, seats are amazing (champions club, you say?), and the level of play is on fire. Bring a crew and come on over!

I don't want to see Blake Hickman with a tomahawk across his chest, so I wouldn't want to see him, and Brandon Lowe would be a reach for any of the picks in the top 100 that the Braves have, so not worth the six hour drive.

 

Not knocking it, and this will sound weird from someone who is focused on writing about the minor leagues, but I've just never gotten into college baseball.  I had a cousin who pitched for St. Cloud State and I sang for Gopher games when I was in college, but those are the only college games I ever tried to attend. They just didn't appeal to me.

Illinois is ranked 5th in the country.  I don't know if it's just a matter of having so few losses or their actually a CWS contender. It does show the B1G is improving but unfortunately the Gophers seem to be heading the other way.

Mind you, not you personally, JB! I re-read this and it could come off in that manner. However if the Hawkeyes would want to take up tic tac toe rather than collegiate athletics, I can say I would have no semblance of disappointment.

No. 3 Michigan vs No. 4 Maryland in the finals today at 1pm! Radar says rain is going away for a while, so should be a go-ahead to play.
