They've got at least one Twin-expat living out here in this basin!! I'll be at all three, unabashedly cheering for the boys. Unless they are getting crushed, in which case I will be crying silent tears in my seat with my hood up. Seeing the Braves (47-50) take down the Dodgers twice last week and break their streak was kind of spectacular and gives me added confidence. We can do this. [insert fist bump.]

Welcome back Paulino!! Hope he gets more regular catching time, this time around.
  3. eLee612
I was just about to post that photo!! They've got a great group of guys down there. Looking forward to catching them live a few times this season.

Only positive vibes for May as he starts his rehab.... fingers crossed for a very boring, uneventful and uncomplicated recovery!!

This would be implemented right as I'm about to move out of state... >_< sounds like a great deal though and I'd definitely buy in if I could!!

All I want for Christmas is Urias in a Sota uniform... but Santa always marks my letters "Return to Sender."

#30by30 complete, with 3 years to spare! Headed to Roc for Red Wings tomorrow, and then back to Mpls for White Sox. The team might not finish the year strong, hahah but I will!

All of the Twins minor league parks, plus every spring training park in FL! --- Live from the game. 7th inning just got real dirty... >_< CMONNN TWINS!

STADIUM #30 TODAY!!! Not really sure what to move on to next... but the World Baseball Classic is sounding really good right now!

I can't wait to see the new Braves stadium!! I've got big expectations after everything I've read about it, but I trust it's going to be awesome.

Hmmm.... I have a clear top three, but the last two spots are a battle: 1. Target Field (of course!) 2. Petco Park 3. AT&T Park --- After that, it's a toss up between Coors Field, Fenway, Dodgers Stadium, and Wrigley.

Well... the pilgrimage is ALMOST over! At the end of the month I'm headed to Toronto to catch the Twins on in Rogers Centre, checking off my last of the 30 MLB stadiums! I'm flying in and out of Rochester and plan on catching a few Red Wings games while I'm there as well. Just wanted to check in and see if anyone else will be making the trek to the land of the North? Would be awesome to connect with a few other Twins fans while I'm there!

I wouldn't take the fact that Twins aren't mentioned in these little blurbs as anything super significant. I got to take in quite a few showcases while living in the DR this past winter, and I promise you - every single team has eyes and ears on the ground. // Edited to add: on the topic of a surplus of shortstops... I wish I had the percentage data to back it up, but lots of these SSs will play a different position before they reach actual professional ball. So many scouting reports note some variation of "may profile better at 3rd base..." Everyone wants to be that 5-tool dream team middle infielder, buuuuut.....

Can't tell if you're serious. Do you really think that the Twins, or any major league club for that matter, would have their top ranked prospects on the 'Netflix and Chill' off-season plan? As fans, we may not have that instant gratification of directly measurable results from October - February work, but that definitely doesn't mean he was sitting on his !!! eating cheetos for five months. I promise that no one is more frustrated by Buxton's struggle at the plate than Buxton himself.
  15. eLee612
What's next for Buxton is the rest of May, the rest of the season, turning 23, taking a deep breath to remove some of the negativity and self doubt, and working with Torii / other mentors / the rest of his qualified coaching staff who believe in him. I can't speak for the rest of the fan base, but this one ---> still believes in him too!

Maybe I'm missing where you're going with this... But WAR doesn't dictate the assigned monetary value of the player. The formula is:WAR = (Batting Runs + Base Running Runs + Fielding Runs + Positional Adjustment + League Adjustment +Replacement Runs) / (Runs Per Win)Notably, there is a lack of n(JerseysSold), n(5YrOldsCitingXAsFavoritePlayer), n(twitterLikes). Like Seth said, it's a good comparative value tool. Not linear to expected/deserved salary, which DOES take into account all of those fan rating, revenue stream, etc. numbers. Just my $0.02

Great athlete and an even greater young man off the field. Humble, hard working, curious, appreciative.... lots of great things to say about this kid in only a short time knowing him. No more kissing girls and getting mono!

And he looks like a real-life TC bear... How could you not endorse that?!
  20. eLee612
No one mentioned anything about Carlos Paulino. Thoughts?
  21. eLee612
I hope Kep has been practicing his Spanish!
  22. eLee612
Did Carlos Paulino (Chattnooga) move up to AAA? Or is the Red Wings' website just not updated... as usual.
  23. eLee612
Looking forward to watching you progress in Ft. Myers! Keep grinding.
  24. eLee612
Thanks for the read Brandon! It makes the game so much more personal when you actually know the backstory to these guys, not just "who's the dude with the long hair?" You keep writing, I'll keep reading!

They can move Polanco anywhere they want, provided that it's: 1) up 2) within the Twins organization, and 3) after June 23rd So selfish. I'm headed back to Chattanooga for one last trip in a few weeks... please don't shuffle my favorite AA team before I get there! I do really like Esco as an all-around though, so maybe there is a different card we can trade in... That would be SPLENDID!!
