Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/your-opinions-of-the-team-projections-american-league/ This is a fun read.......it is the AL version of "steamer says this, what do you all think" polling that Fangraphs did. The Twins are projected for 76 wins, and the masses think that is waaaaaay over their total next year.
gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 In fairness, originally, the projection was accidentally written as 86 wins, not 76. Frankly, I think the Twins have a pretty decent shot to be .500 next year. Their offense was good and they have enough depth to remain good even if Vargas/Santana fall to earth. Santana and Nolasco are the big questions. If those two can pitch effectively, this team will surprise some people.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted January 6, 2015 Author Posted January 6, 2015 he addresses that projection issue, and notes it was fixed pretty fast.....not sure why he can't tell when people voted, and if it made a difference. Did you vote last week? I voted about right on the Twins, I think....though I might have voted too low by up to 3. It's more interesting as a general thing, than as a Twins' thing, which is why I put it here.

Had it been at 76, I would have changed it. Looking at the number of comments that discussed it at the time, I don't think it got fixed that fast (or people just voted/commented right away). I did enjoy it though but I didn't look at the NL one.
