Boras & "his book" on Scherzer

Both for some of the little tidbits on Max's stats and the need for an Ace in the Series and for a look at Boras' tactics -- overwhelming with info,

I like Max, but not so much Boras.

 

Even Pedro Martinez had his last good season (good, not dominating) at age 33. 

 

You never know what you're getting with a pitcher. Sabathia and a few others make teams optimistic about the 'next' pitcher to play well to a contract.

 

It seldom actually goes that way.

I wouldn't give him 6 years for real money.

I believe it's a bad bet.

It would be a better book by Boras if he could have documented how Scherzer will perform better than the aging curve.

All it takes is one team. Figuring out which team is the hard part being that there are options in Shields and Lester. I am not sure there is a conventional wisdom on which teams could pay that much for a pitcher and how many there are.
