The White Sox are releasing Scott Downs. He always got our guys out, but apparently the rest of the league is catching up with him. The Yankees DFAed a middle infielder named Dean Anna and optioned former Twins farmhand Yangervis Solarte to AAA. I wouldn't exactly call Solarte a failure, but the Yanks are going with Zealous Wheeler in his place.

 

After a strong start, Solarte hit under .200 in June, with a .495 OPS. He is far better as a left handed hitter.
