Yesterday notwithstanding, Mr. Plouffe is a much improved defensive player. He's always had the arm strength and this year he has been much more accurate and he's getting rid of the ball quicker.

Agreed, he's been an average 3b in his short career by being able to pick it, throwing hard, and hitting well. If he was lucky he would be close enough for Morneau's huge wingspan to bail him out on terrible accuracy. This season overall he's been much more accurate. I did not predict his accuracy to make this big of a jump.

I'd sure rather see Trevor May in a long relief role to see what he can do, with Swarzak moving to shorter relief, and Guerrier moving to, oh, I don't know, maybe activities director at the Villages in Florida. It gets all three of them closer to their futures.
